What do you guys expect? Dancing with the stars? It's a politician presenting statistics and modelling numbers. It's information, not entertainment.

There really isn’t much of a difference in the job descriptions of a politician and an actor. End of the day it’s his job to have people like what he’s saying and the way he’s saying it.

Of course not. The natural order is to eat things with blood squirting everywhere. Its only humans at the last step that decide whether or not something is fully cooked over a flame.

Arguably - Chickens are probably the downfall of humanity. They eat everything and anything live, raw, in any state of decay or disease. All it takes is one chicken to eat something that its not supposed to and Bird Flu hits tops again, instead of Bat Flu.

Most Asian countries are the same. HK was like that before SARS. Took a long ass time for HK to change to more modern standards.

I don't think Xi got the drive to do the same reform because in his mind, that's like admitting fault.

Phone tracking apps don't really make sense ... people can just leave their phones at home and leave. *Shocked Pikachu face*

FFS... for once I wish chat isn't disabled.

Powerpoint sucks since it's not streaming in 1080p or 4K. Font is too small and JK is too fricking boring and not getting to the point.

    This is embarrassing.

why would they bother when the USA virus was a deliberate act of the American military and not related to the hygiene at all?

Thought this was pretty nice explanation. I have to say, that "Probable" scenario sounds quite reasonable, compared to some of the projections that have been keeping me up at night. If I could snap my fingers and just accept that one, I would for sure.

What is less clear from all the various scenarios, is at what point on the down-slope government would allow us to reopen the remainder of our economy and public services. I assume those slopes have continues social distancing built into them. But what does the "second bump" look like if we open things July 1, for instance?

If Kenny is right about 25% unemployment, that's going to start killing significant numbers of people too if it lasts more than a month or two.

I'm still trying to understand where the probable death #'s can come from? .05-.38% less than 1%?

I mean I guess .04% is the current global tally... But - seems super low.

I'm at urgent care right now for non-covid reasons, talking to nurses and they brought up a point I never thought about. They aren't seeing their regular mental health patients, at all. Lots of mentally ill people are going to be off their meds soon, with no one to help them. That sucks.

The denominator problem is extreme. Even attempting to determine the mortality rate is a waste of time.

Well even by our current numbers - Alberta's sitting at that 2% projection WHO said in January to expect. Canada is at 2.25%

So where's this magical 0.38% going to come from? 1/5th fewer deaths than currently experiencing?

More positive test in the population, keep deaths low = lower death rate.

Testing now opened up to anyone with symptoms in Calgary.

There seems to be a lot of magic in these projections. My question is what happens Aug 11th when we are down to 0? How is nobody still infected? Why Aug 11th? In my mind, there is no reason to believe the virus will be eradicated simply by social distancing. People are still going out getting groceries, etc. Many people are still working and still in contact with potential carriers, etc. I am no expert whatsoever, but I believe we still see the virus around to at least next summer - and that is with maintaining current lockdown.

The forecast is like those winter forecast from weather network. It's always going to warm up about 10 days out.

But the real problem, we get healthier doesn't work. The whole world needs to get over this as we cannot block travel forever.

AHS is going to be tested next 4 weeks.

300icu beds, 500 ventilators. But 800 deaths expected in that period.
