3 months later... "Tipping is bullshit, I never tip, if they want to get ahead In life they should go to school and get a real career!"
So it will all work out?

The latest marketing from The Nordic Spa in Kananaskis is mind bogglingly stupid. That place is for sure going to get people sick. But hey, their choice to go there, my tax dollars to have them in ICUThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Hospitalizations aren't changing. So shouldn't be any consideration for unnecessary lock down at all. But I wouldn't put it past the government to do stupid government things. So you could be right................for the wrong reason. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Toronto Star: Vaccines are racist and favour rich white Canadians who have internet and speak english.
https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/202...hot-spots.html
If you can't speak english in Canada or at least don't want to make an effort to learn, perhaps you need to GTFO? My 60 year old grandmother learned English from scratch, using language barrier as an excuse is your own fault. They say factors connected to the health-care system neglecting priority populations, especially lower-income and people of colour, are resulting in appointments left vacant for those over 70.
“It favours people who can go in these lineups, favours people with access to internet, who can speak English, who are well enough to go and get the vaccine, and receive the vaccine without question,” he said. “That itself is a problem.”
Many residents they serve do not have consistent internet access. Although booking by phone is an option, language barriers make that hard, he said.
<--English is third language and I don't speak Paris.

Ontario and Quebec are seeing empty mass-vaccination sites after the initial rush. If we are betting on vaccinations to get out of this, I wouldn't hold your breath, this is going to stretch into next year.Sites in Montreal that were bustling just last week saw their lineups shrink to zero this week. Online, appointment slots were wide open. The site is one of the bigger ones, but “there was nobody in line, nobody getting a shot… there were six security guards milling around with nothing to do,” she said. There were similar reports from other sites, including the downtown convention centre.
As soon as there is the option for everyone to get the vaccine in a timely manner, all restrictions should be removed.
When the cases start going up again in the people who don't want it, that's their problem.
At some point it will make more sense to just open the flood gates.

Unfortunately generating demand for healthcare workers doesn’t result in any generation of value in our system. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Agreed however our restrictions are tied to ICU admissions and capacity. If people who aren’t vaccinated plug hospitals, what do you do then? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
You change what your restrictions are tied to when you have a better system to move to.
If people are forever sick with covid, then that will result in a more permanent reallocate of healthcare capacity to that disease, like any other disease.
Pretty big if though, especially considering repeat infections will likely result in changes in immunity in those who don’t get vaccinated.

Relocation of capacity should’ve happened last summer before the second wave in the fall. I have little hope our governments will head that direction, our state funded media blows up over any Covid story that promotes fear.
Our bed capacity is 81% used up (with ~37,000 beds in the province). That means there are some 12,000 spaces available province wide - and yet the government is focused on a few hundred cases province-wide, that tie up resources.

Brazil variant now showing up in larger numbers here. Probably the stupid whistler people.
even with the new variants/cases, the hospitalization rates are flattened out and the death rate has dropped to nil - was expecting the opposite.
Monday will be interesting to see what government does...
Another 1100 today (estimated) with half of those being variants.
