For population size, Texas is testing at the same rate as AB.

Their positive rate averaging 16% to 17%. Our positive rate is 1.4%.

So we are doing WAY better job in public education and behavior then they are.

Medcram talked about T cell last week. So sounds like way to fight this is wear mask, let the infection be less severe so you don't kick the bucket and viola, immunity.

I just assumed that's what they mean everytime they announce more cases traced to a "private party"

Nobody talking about Trump's big announcement yesterday? Apparently FDA has approved some type of new Plasma treatment for hospitalized COVID cases. Uses plasma(blood) from recovered patients. So perhaps there is something to the whole lasting immunity idea. This could be a big deal. If hospitalizations are already way down due to the use of all these different anti viral drug treatments they've been using, this new treatment could be what takes care of those last high risk cases and drop the mortality rate to damn near zero.

Only in extreme/dire cases. Didn't finish watching med cram but one slide seem to point out a 5% increase in survival rate.

    Topical: https://finance.yahoo.com/video/not-...184307653.html

"I'm really disappointed, in fact, that the FDA is succumbing to so much political pressure and anxiety from the population and not being guided by medical and scientific rigorous principles... the science behind there being specific targeted immune complexes in the plasma, which would be specifically helpful to an individual patient, are not identifiable and not predictable.. without prospective randomized analysis... it's not quite a hail mary, but it's pretty close to it."

Scariest part of that story was that buddy is still allowed jetsetting around the world for some reason.

    But borders are “closed”.

Reading between the lines, sounds like he was infected with Chinese variant D in March and then caught variant G in Spain in July/Aug. 1st researched backed confirmed re-infection but don't read too much into it for now. It's pretty much confirmed by serology studies you can be reinfected after 12 weeks. Now we just hope studies on T/B Cells will give us clearly picture what happens without antibodies.

Dude is cleared of 1st round. Unless you want to ground everyone that has ever been infected with COVID forever......

And from the case numbers from gatherings in AB, nobody cares anyway. Let alone international travelers.

Canadians, and immediate family of Canadians have always been allowed back. Some people with dual citizenship are skirting things claiming to just be 'going home' both directions.

Though I've also read that we can just go down to the US anyways because the US doesn't give a fuck ... and Canada has to let us back as citizens anyways.

"energy workers" can travel freely to USA and back. As can people in "transport" and a whole bunch of other industries.

Make no mistake, the border is open.

If you got Covid early and got through it airfares are stupidly cheap right now. Sure, its even more of a hassle to get through the airports, but if you want to save money now is the time.
