I think this is announced already. I don't think I'm sharing early intel on this one. It's already real. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They're gonna let people visit the most vulnerable segment of the population that we've crippled our economy to protect over the last 6.5 weeks.
I'm missing something in your post. I'm not the "might be announced" person. I knew and stated that High River had exploded a week before it was announced and I knew it was at Cargill and in their hospital. I even knew about the preliminary numbers at Mackenzie Towne a few days before that story broke.
This is real and it's demeaning to our entire effort to allow this. People should be furious.

I think the government is just starting to see the mental health penalties associated with this all going down... The yes go outside yes go socialize 6' apart is ok - is likely that first step for both the mental health and - our ERs aren't overwhelmed so let's raise transmission a bit again to allow us to get this done sooner. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Gents, hoping For some insight. Does anyone know of friends/family who recently entered Canada from the US? Based on the information posted on the .gov site, self quarantine rules seem strict and rightfully so.
The reason I ask is, as a Canadian with a US green card, I'm thinking of coming back to Calgary with my old lady (American). My parents have a secondary suite with kitchen and separate entrance. Abiding by self quarantine rules is doable. Wondering if this will suffice or what kinda proof we'll need. Not sure if coming home counts as non-essential travel but I'd feel safer in Canada then the east coast.
Any insight is appreciated.
Got an Alberta WCB Covid-19 relief check in the mail yesterday, am still working full time hours and then some and certainly was not expecting such. No doubt it will be paid for in the form of future higher taxes but it will go towards a new fridge as our 23+ year old main fridge has decided it's close to calling it a day. Check was worth more than half of my annual premiums.
No direct experience, but they have to let you in as a Canadian citizen. Not sure about your significant other. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I've read about the rcmp doing check ins and you need to give them the address. Could be a good idea to have photos of where you're staying and your plan to get groceries and booze.

Perhaps we could apply this outside of the legislature to ward off protesters. Maybe a bit inside as well.A town in southern Sweden has turned to a traditional source to try to prevent the coronavirus spreading during an annual festive event on Thursday - chicken manure.
The university town of Lund began spreading chicken droppings in its central park to put off would-be revellers who would usually come on April 30 to celebrate Walpurgis Night.

The question is if she's travelling back for "essential". Since it doesn't mention needing written authorization, my guess is this isn't going to be strictly enforced, as long as you're not saying you're going back for a vacation haha.

Say that she "normally resides" in Canada and they will let her in.

To those arguing that early border closures to China would have impacted the outbreak in Canada, the data does not really support that:
“ Canada's early COVID-19 cases came from the U.S. not China, provincial data shows”

On January 25, the first identified presumptive case in Canada was a male in his 50s who travelled between Wuhan andGuangzhou before returning to Toronto on January 22"
Final testing conducted at the National Microbiology Laboratory in Winnipeg, Manitoba confirmed the presumptive case on January 27
But no, the liberals did not want to flatten the curve early on, in early Jan when they were advised of the situation by NATO and other inteliigence groups - that responsibility should be put on the populous instead.
