I would think, by sheer numbers alone this data doesn't say anything of relevance. There is a significantly larger population that is vaccinated, so you need to take this in a per-capita context. Sure, there is roughly 50/50 in the ICU, but representative in the populace you're still more likely to end up in ICU as an unvaccinated person. In other words, your graph doesn't make your point.

There is around 90% vaccinated in Canada, so your victory is when there are less than 10% unvaccinated in hospital. Not 50% mark.

Canada's population is 77% vaccinated. 75% of covid hospitalizations in Ontario are fully vaccinated. An interesting data point.

ICU is still biased towards unvaccinated, but has been moving to proportional representation.

Referencing the population in hospital, not referencing the total population

Demonstrating that as a percentage of the population, hospitalizations are proportionally represented.

75% of total population vaxxed. 75% of hospitalized population vaxxed.

25% of total population unvaxxed. 25% of hospitalized population unvaxxed.

This is useful in determining the efficacy of vaccination in preventing hospitalization.

I was hoping that if 75% of the total population was vaxxed, then hospitalizations would be disproportionately represented by the unvaxxed... because the vaccine would be preventing the majority of vaxxed population from hospitalization. This is still the case in the ICU, but not like it was 6 months ago.

It's obviously preventing severe illness and death (with delta and OG strains), but it appears vaccination has negligible effects on Omicron, which explains why 75% of the hospitalized population is vaccinated in a pandemic of the unvaccinated.
