Yes, these vaccines will have typical vaccine adverse events profiles: pain at the injection side, redness and swelling at the injection site, maybe some symptoms related to your immune response (aches and fatigue). This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The mRNA vaccines work slightly differently than the AZ vaccine. Their mechanism is similar in that they are using part of the spike protein as the antigen. But their delivery is different enough that they might create a different type of immune response.
But they all seem to be highly effective and very safe. Probably the biggest side effect of the vaccines will be an increase in tinfoil hat sales.
There really will be no benefit to waiting a month or a fews months to "see how things go". The companies will be collecting safety data as part of a full trial for a couple of years or so...which is why these will still be "emergency use" in terms of their category.

Alberta asks federal government, Red Cross for field hospitals as COVID spreads
As COVID-19 cases soar in Alberta and hospital capacity is stretched, the province has reached out to the federal government and the Canadian Red Cross for help, CBC News has learned.
A federal source with direct knowledge of the situation says Alberta has asked the federal government and the Red Cross to supply field hospitals to help offset the strain COVID-19 is having on the health-care system.
What about the Covid field hospital they already have in Calgary that hasn't been used? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Isn't CBC the Canadian CNN?

JK on podium on vaccine roll out.
Sounds like 1st batch will start arriving Jan 4th for Phase 1.
Only 2/13 depots can handle Pfizer. The rest can handle Moderna.
Phase 3 in summer for gen pop.
Did he say removing the mandatory inoculation law? Welcome back measles...

Yes and there was a survey recently that mentioned only 59% of albertans would be willing to be vaccinated

Yes. But given the shit show that's southern Alberta, I'm sure that law isn't enforced anyway if there's even one. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

That 50% better than typical flu vaccine season. Take that as a win.
Sounds like he is using this as an opportunity to roll back a 110 year old law that still makes sense for other diseases. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Those polls aren't very accrurate IMO. You're asking people if they are willing to take a vaccine that hasn't been approved. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Even 50% vaccinated would be fine. The rest can fuck off and get the virus.

Like some here like to say, laws are only good as enforcement. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Whoever enforces this will lose rural votes, you won't get enforcement out of UCP. Especially southern Alberta around Lethbridge and Waterton area. Used to know a nurse that work that area and outbreaks are common due to lack of vaccination of the population.
This. But JK's numbers seems like we can only get 10% vaccinated in Q1 if everything goes according to plan. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
So sounds like we still got another 6 months to go because we hit 50%. And probably us plebs are getting the less effective AZ one if that ever get approved.
EDIT: Rick Bell askes a dumb fucking question, I guess that's par for course.

I'm interested who they determine Phase 2 will be. Selfishly hoping it's people with Asthma and their immediate families lol.
Overweight and obese albertans perhaps, ones with known comorbilities.
In the same realm as say, being patient #20 for LASIK treatment 30 years ago, I advocate waiting for results/improvement - unless you have dire/medical need for it. Let the science and technology catch up with real world results. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
