just a note on how it works in Canada. The votes are counted by paid staff of Elections Canada (min wage temp employees), who do not have to have or declare their affiliation or lack of one to do that job. The count is overseen by scrutineers from political parties or other organizations who can be paid or volunteers. Those scrutineers can WATCH the count, but they do not touch the ballots, and they do not influence how the ballots are counted. if they have a complaint, they make notes and take that up with their bosses AFTER the count is complete. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member.
