I bought a 2013 Mini GP actually. I was the second highest bidder but the highest bidder flaked, bought the car privately after the auction from the seller directly for about $1500CAD less than I was willing to bid on BAT.
Congrats - i assume it was the edmonton one? i've always like the GP's.
That's not an open wheel racecar. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Nope looked at a ton of options and every single one had some sort of issue that didn’t make me feel excited (too much money for what it is, too old, too far away, chassis too small for my height). Combined with the fact that it’s going to be another 1-2 years before we get another road course and I don’t have a garage it was making less and less sense. I also would have had to commit to no street car and just truck and trailer which made me slightly sad. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I was disappointed but you make a lot of sense here so the right choice for sure hahaThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I've always wanted to own/drive something like that ever since I came across the Ariel Atom. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I've never really dug into it, but I believe its difficult in Canada to own something like that here.
I spent 8 days at the track this year and it doesn’t feel like enough to have a non road legal car. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I can identify with that. Part of why I wanted to make mine street legal, though I still don't drive it as often as I should. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Easiest way might be to build your own, Exocet has a very strong proposition at a very reasonable price. There's at least one road legal one in Alberta too. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I've got the green light from the wife to build one once we've got a track near Calgary.
Not gonna lie, seeing forester Xt’s go for $20k+ usd really makes me tempted to list lol

Decided to run that one by the wife unlike putting the Camaro up for sale and her seeing it on Facebook? Lol.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Something to take a bigger look at maybe. I definitely want other things that have more uses but I think they'd be so much fun to drive. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Just another thing on the would like to have at some point in life.
I'd take a serious look at a Factory Five 818 if I were going to build a kit car. Those things can be pretty freaking insane and are available in coupe form if you want a roof and.. doors.

Interesting. Are many of those made street legal? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

To be honest I have absolutely no idea, but after personally going through the process of making a 100% homebuilt car street legal, I can't see why not. It would just have to comply with the Vehicle Equipment Regulation (https://www.qp.alberta.ca/documents/Regs/2009_122.pdf) and pass an OOP inspection. For registration, tell them it's a replica of a boxster or a zonda or whatever you think it looks like when you squint really hard. They don't seem to be terribly picky about that. Just make sure for the OOP that it has all the necessary reflectors and side markers and all that other fun stuff. Reflective tape and penny lights from Princess Auto are your friend. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

That's funny you did that because I was just wondering the other day how I don't see many people use these (at least here) as track cars. I can only imagine what a riot this thing is considering the cooper S is a blast to drive in stock form. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
