Another example of a brand name selling itself, rather than the actual product...

    That's the world of spirits.

Most of those specialty bourbons and such are made by a few distillers. Vodka is just water and ethanol.

Tons of microbrewers contract out their production to commercial breweries.

    It's all marketing.

I've had the gin a few times. Preferred it to a few of the common brand's I've had.

I've really gotten into blind tastings lately - great way to cut through the marketing and find something you really like.

Good for him. It's all marketing an image rather than producing a different product, but that makes it all the more impressive when someone succeeds at it.

You realize you are talking to the guy who made his own furniture out of salad bowls right?

Click bait title... Ryan looks to be retaining the partial ownership in the singular brand that is part of the transaction

I thought his cut is only around $70-$80M. Yeah, ONLY

Still a good pay day for basically just marketing it.

Never tried, no idea if worth. That being said: Finally listened to a Kanye song for the first time. Not sure if worth $1.3 Billion, but I sure do prefer Dre.
    Cocoa $11,000 per tonne.
