Well it's all swapped over from the CSL DD to ClubSport DD. The extra torque adds so much more dynamic range, I get zero clipping now. Took a little bit of tweaking to dial in the settings but I've got it to a point where I'm 99% happy. Unless the upcoming FullForce FFB protocol changes things drastically. Also swapped the seat to something with a bit less give and beefed up the PC slightly.

I'm impressed with how much beefier the new one is side by side. How much seat time are you putting in per week?

Yah the Clubsport is genuinely heavy.

In the winter I try to get 3-4hrs a week but even that’s tough, during summer, zero.

Got setup in iracing. Finished my first 2 races, and not in last place. I'll take it.

Nice! The quicker you get your iRating up the sooner you'll be in higher split races where you're less likely to get taken out on lap 1 at T1

The new one is more than I paid with pedals and boost kit, so I'm not even mad they came out with an upgrade so quick.

How many iracers do we have here? Do you guys compete in any leagues? Enough interest to set up a league for beyonders?

I'm in iracing, but I just don't have any time to commit to it anymore with 2 little kids. The most I can muster is a couple practice sessions a week and it's still so much fun.

I am currently running a G920 to play Forza iRacing and ACC, I'm not super happy with the setup anymore but it was good to learn and practice on, I am looking to upgrade to something better and I found this posting on facebook Marketplace.

    https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...1-091468d883ed

I'm not very well versed in what would be a good upgrade path but is this something the experts in here would consider and if so, what price would you realistically pay for the above?

    Thanks

I went to the CSL DD which is maybe a better path since it is much newer. That set has a nice wheel and pedals though.
I started with the CSL DD grans turismo with the mclaren gt3 wheel and then have added the CS V3 pedals, 8nm upgrade kit thing and now the newer F1 wheel. QR2 is pretty slick though compared to the old wheel mounting system.
Black friday I think is really the only sale fanatec does as shipping is expensive and also duty. Haven't had much time to try my new stuff out though.

I'd likely be in, I also have some track/autocross buddies that dabble in iRacing, some of whom are beyond members that would likely also be in.

Let me know what sort of format you're thinking? One race per week, what car, what track, settings? Like JustinL I'm pretty tight on time but could participate if it was just one race per week with fixed settings (don't have time to spend hours tweaking setup).

    This.

With the price of a CSL DD now days it's a great mid-range wheelbase, make sure you get one with a boost kit (8nm peak torque) though. I would not be buying an old Clubsport V2.5 unless it was next to free. And yah the McLaren GT3 steering wheel is a great all-around wheel that's pretty cheap.

I could be convinced to buy a PC if we get a weekly race going. For a few years some friends and I had a weekly race series going where we kept track of points on Forza and had set rules, I miss it.

Off topic (mostly) but you guys are probably the crowd that knows this. What arcade games have the most realistic physical controls? Like separate brake and gas pedal basically. And you know, are available in an arcade here in cowtown.

F355 challenge was basically a simulator wrapped in an arcade game. Full 3 pedal h pattern shifter experience in the highest difficulty mode. It randomly appears here and there, last time I saw it was pre Covid at rec room. I think @soloracer is rebuilding his right now. There’s a thread on it somewhere.

Obviously not an arcade, but might be fun to try this place out:

Race drivin was always my favorite arcade game good luck finding that one. Rec room has many racing games and one that has vr. I didn’t try any of them so I can’t say if they are good. They have that one that is tuner race game, I should know the name but I don’t.

I’ve done the race room which is now closed as far as I know it was fun, tracksvr looked to have a good setup.
