I'm a huge Jets fan and I hope he's suspended for the remainder of the series, even if it means we lose. No place on hockey for that kind of gutless bullshit. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

That was a poor hit in Winnipeg.
Nice of the refs to hand Colorado Game2.
I didn't mind the hit personally

Agreed! Terrible and dirty hit. Scheifele isn't not even looking at the puck nor extending his stick to try and prevent the goal. Just lowered his shoulder and eyes fixated on nailing Evans. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Times have changed. You can't cave a guys chest in 'just cause his head is down' or whatever excuse you want to give him. Like I said before even if this hit didn't technically break a rule (headshot, blindside hit, charging, whatever) it shows that Schiefele has zero respect for Evans. Didn't even attempt to stop the empty netter and just barrelled through him.
Also classic that Maurice calls it a 'heavy, clean hit' but was crying last year about Tkachuk cutting Schiefele with his skate.
I used to really like Maurice but shut up man."It was intentional," Maurice said. "It was a filthy, dirty kick to the back of the leg. You can't see it on the program [camera] feed, but you take the blue-line feed and you zoom in. He went after the back of his leg. Could have cut his Achilles [tendon]. Could have ended the man's career. It's an absolutely filthy, disgusting hit."
Schiefele doesn't have to play the puck. Come on dude contact hockey...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
In my opinion it is a clean hit but Schiefele will be fined the 5k and will get suspended for hitting a player with a lack of player safety in mind. 5 games is my guess.
Is this one of the reasons hockey is boring now?
I would be surprised if he got a 1 game suspension. He doesn't have a history and it was a clean hit. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I don't see how it's not charging. Forget counting strides and leaving feet and all that bullshit like we were trying to count steps in basketball. He was going full speed and elected to hit a player going zero, after he scored, who didn't even think he was going to get hit, hence why he was unconscious before he hit the ice. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Evans should get his name on the cup for not submarining Schleiffen (whatever his dumb name is) and us having to watch them pull his quad'd pile off the ice (assuming he lived).

4 games, right call by DoPS in my book. Explanation video is well done also.

My take is 1 game for the charge, 2 for giving a guy a brain injury, 1 for trying to bullshit the DoPS on why he made the hit. Reasonable even if a lot of Jets fans are being enormous pissbabies about it and claiming this is some anti-small-market conspiracy.
Nhl's decision makes sense

At first I thought it was a clean hit, but when you look at how far he's skated to make that hit, it fits the definition of a charge.
Here is a better video from his own goal line all the way to the hit

PS: Maruice is an absolute idiot with his comments every time, it's like he's fucking blind half the fucking time .
When I was a kid charging meant to you left your feet prior to a hit. Not sure when that rule changed..
It would be pretty hard to argue he skated all the way down the ice to make a hit.. I mean isn't that one of the main features of the dump and chase?
The most recent significant charging suspension

Seems pretty consistent

When you were a kid, you're correct, that was one criteria. The other common one was words to the effect of "more than two strides" or something. I'm not sure if NHL gives refs more leeway, buy they should. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
At the end of the day, he's a pro and by the time he crossed the blue line, he knew he was getting scored on. He made the choice to carry all that speed through and Attempt To Injure (Match Penalty) that player.
Time to pay the Piper.
That was a great hockey game. This col vgk series (aside from game 1) has been terrific.

That was fun to watch. Non stop action and the atmosphere was insane. Glad to see VGK win.
Marchessault Playoff hatty. Vegas on fire since 2nd period game 2. Nuts.
