I use to like the idea of a detached home in a larger lot inner city area (Scarborough, Mt. Royal, cliff bungalow, etc), inglewood was also fun while I was younger (would be great without the planes, trains, and future homeless from green line)

These days though, I do like my little corner of fish creek, and we would need one of these homes to pop up at the right time to move ever again. I don’t care much about which, as it would be a full gut or bulldoze, no way to ever recover the cost of the reno/build, forever house:

fuck ya. id move to any of those lots. Any risk of erosion putting your house into the river?

Also, what do you mean by cost recovery on a reno/build?

I think they’re all far enough back that erosion isn’t a concern in this lifetime.

Resale value…. It will be an L, old houses, 8ft ceilings… it will be a costly makeover

Tear it down. Build 6 car garage/shop that looks like a house, and build the living space part of the house as a three level walk out, underneath the garage. Hollywood Hills style.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Rosedale in a newer build 1,500 sq ft bungalow (2 bedrooms up and 2 down) with a 3 car garage or a 2 car with enough height for a lift. Quick walk to SAIT, amenities and a short train ride to UofC.
I thought you wanted West Hillhurst?

One of my developers is building a house in Rosedale right now with a walkout basement and a 3 car garage.

Ideal spot for me is somewhere with a view - think Coyote Valley Rd by the RockPointe church.

This old house likely has the most sought-after views in basically all of Calgary and area

Everytime I drive by that place, I dream of buying it. Just beyond that house, there is another flat area to build a dream home. The hill would block the hwy and still high enough to have amazing views.

Awesome land. Weird house. Good tradeoff.

I grew up there, it’s nice but definitely has typical inner city door checkers and breakins, gotta get further away from ctrain lines to avoid those crafty crackheads

I like that it’s not the same copy and paste Alberta acreage house. It’s especially a standout if you think about every uninspiring property that was build in and around 2009

i would take that house in an instant over almost any other me-too alberta house.

    What's with the pricing history?
