What are you talking about? If you wear white Oakleys, and drive a lifted Ram, you'll attract a dishwasher.

Is it too late to derail this thread to talk about marital finances, and spouses keeping separate bank accounts??

that belongs in either the fixed vs variable thread, OR, if you are feeling adventurous, the mortgage vs RRSP thread.

Not really a Black Friday thing, but more of a "if you were already out at HD getting stuff":

    https://www.homedepot.ca/product/fir...es/1001382659#

Heavy-duty single-use disposable shop gloves cost $25 for a box of 100 - effectively $0.50/pair. They tear kinda easily and re-use isn't really an option. $1.00 for a pair of gloves that holds up fairly well and can be used a bunch of times is dirt cheap in comparison. I picked up a couple pairs to see if they were total garbage or not, they have survived a bunch of work on my Jeep and a transfer case rebuild with only a small tear in the fabric portion - totally worth $0.50/pair more than disposables, though the disposables still have their place. With the test being a success I bought 50 pairs and should be set for shop and yardwork gloves for years.

Anyone seen a better deal on a 9.2 channel receiver, or have any reasons to stay away from this one?

only $200 off doesn't seem like that good of a deal, but i haven't looked at receivers specifically. I bet Visions would provide a bigger discount on pretty much any receiver they sell.

Longevity is based on how soon you think you need HDMI 2.1 certified ports.

Once I throw on a shield, run the HDMI to my TV and slap on xbox or PC input, I dont see myself needing more than HDMI for the next 5-10 years, unless there's a starting tech jump, in which case its time for an upgrade.

Picked up an Ecobee at Costco for $199.00 that includes a room sensor and a door sensor, turns out it's the Ecobee 3lite.

anybody got feedback on it or should I pony up another $70 and get the Ecobee SmartThermostat w/voice control? Heard the lite does not support humidifier and if I plan to add A/C in the future. This will be my first smart thermostat so not sure if I should get the higher model to future proof?
trying is the first step towards failure

The 3 lite will support a/c but not humidifier. If you want humidity control get the upgraded non-lite version. For only $70 more I would do it, I like having humidity control.
