I'm not saying I know anyone who has gotten the vaccine already... but some Canadian snowbirds in an unnamed southern US state may have gotten it last week.

How tho? It was approved Friday evening in the US and first vaccinations started yesterday.

Healthy people wearing masks just because is crazy.

Well, it is believed that at least *some* of the virus doesn't make it through the mask, so for some who are truly frightened, perhaps this gives them a sense of security. It also eliminates touching your mouth, which we do all the time - thereby limiting transmission on your person as well.

But that aside, most people can spread the virus in the first few days of infection, prior to symptoms. The spread we see is largely because of two scenarios: Either someone doesn't know they are sick and spreads it, or they know they are sick and purposefully go out and spread it. While, like you said, the latter is just ignorant, I can't believe everyone spreading it are doing so because they are just assholes. There HAS to be asymptomatic spread. And BTW, I'm not talking about people who remain truly asymptomatic throughout their battling the virus, because there is mixed information as to whether that's really a significant source of spread.

All in, it's not "crazy" for people who *think* they are healthy to wear a mask. And at the end of the day, even if it helps only a few hundred or thousand to not die, are those people's lives not worth a little inconvenience?

That was in this year's flu shot, which is why they pushed it so much. Make people fear the COVID vaccine so that they will be accepting of the flu one.

I would appreciate if someone wore a mask knowing they might be sick.

It’s called consideration.

We are a social species by nature. And communication is 70-90% non verbal. If you don't get those things, you're the weird one.

I would prefer sick people just stay home. Dafuq you need to be walking around at stampede for if you're sick? Mask or not. I really hope that is one of the small silver linings we experience from this debacle, is that people feel more empowered to stay home from work and activities when sick.

They just did. With masks. Without government mandate in the US.

Add that to losing international route business if other governments start imposing something, then you may be landlocked if you are not vaccinated.
