That would be wonderful. At least I would know the needle is getting done right. Every needle I've ever had from a nurse, is jabbed directly into the center of the delt, making it as uncomfortable as possible. It's funny that people think nurses are "Trained professionals" when it comes to injections, when their school training involves just sticking needles into an orange.
You do realize that the middle of the deltoid is specifically chosen for the intramuscular injections for a reason, right?

We want it deep in the muscle so the injection can actually work like it is supposed to, and not accidentally get injected into your subcutaneous adipose tissue or into the subdeltoid bursa. Discomfort is minimal with a proper IM injection. A lot also has to do with the rate and volume of injection.

    * I do needle biopsies and inject people in their spine and joints for a living, so I have some knowledge of needle technique.

I never said anything about doing it subQ. I said that the direct center of the delt is uncomfortable. If you go into the side of the middle delt, it is far more comfortable and still IM.

*I've done more delt needles than most people that do it for a living.

Good point, who cares about training and expertise on the subject. Would it make you feel more comfortable if the nurse gave you a smiley face bandaid for your Owwiee next time?

Got my second Moderna yesterday afternoon in my upper dorsimus. Arm is about 2x as sore as the first one and feel slight tiredness and muscle weakness. Others have had night sweats and called in dead. Could be due to the freezing temps outside too.

Didn’t realize they were starting to book second doses in Saskatchewan. That’s great if they are able to do so. I don’t know how Saskatchewan is handling the second doses, but we are still telling everyone here that it will be “in up to 4 months”.

Due to my organizations self-proclaimed essentialness and small number of people, we were able to secure two doses for everyone and give them out on-schedule. Like I said before, I don’t agree that I deserve it, being in my 30s with no health issues, but it was offered so I took it.

"deserve" isn't part of it. We all deserve the shot in a timely manner. Government created shortage doesn't reduce your worth.

Onterrible is making an announcement on its AstraZeneca today. I'm hoping they give us what they don't want for our second doses.

Still blows my mind no one wants to use it. There's a higher chance of blood clots after flying then taking AZ, but no one bats an eye at that.

The numbers don't matter man, just the bullshit people wanna share to discredit the vaccine.

I saw a guy post an article about the vaccine working in texas and bringing numbers down, and all his captions was, was we should follow suit and stop masks and restrictions cause it was working in texas....... pretending that's what it is and not the vaccine.... People are ridiculous.

I think anyone here offered a second dose would happily accept it regardless of the reason.

Don't know how much of an affect this is actually having, but chatting with the person at the pharmacy where I we went yesterday, they are changing the way they book as people are not only booking spots at multiple places to get in the fastest they can and then not cancelling, but apparently it is a real thing where anti-vaxxers are booking spots and no-showing (obviously) simply for the purposes of wrecking the spots for anyone else.

While I am not one who gives a shit if someone wants or doesn't want the vaccine, I think that is an incredibly dick move when so many people do want it, and if you do that you deserve a serious dick/falcon punch!

    Agreed. Article from yesterday:

"One tweet of concern shows a screenshot of a confirmed appointment at an AHS vaccination centre and the author says they planned to let the unused vaccine spoil rather than allowing it to be administered to others."

    Social media is cancer.

Once upon a time some idiot would come up with a dumb idea like this and share it with his 3 equally dumb friends and that’s where it would end.

In 2021, some dumb idiot has a brain fart and develops a following of thousands.

    Social media. Social regression.

Ontario decided to go ahead and use AZ as second doses, but they're expiring in 10 days so everyone has to get their second shot quickly.

Not to worry though citizens! The Ontario doctors have announced it's perfectly safe to get your shots at 10 weeks instead of 4 momths!

I mean, yeah, the manufacturers recommendation is 4 to 12 weeks, so it's good that they're letting everyone know 10 weeks is safe. I would have been worried otherwise.

Looks like, based on this, Canada surpassed US for first shot.
I think we're still decently behind on second shot, based on my friends in the US that already have theirs?
