This is interesting. In SK an MLA is facing heat too but not budging on it, I wonder if they'll be forced to budge now? Not likely, Moe is a bit of a shmoe.

The 'Fly WestJet' press conference certainly hasn't aged well over the past couple days.
And the Banff Springs...vacation close to home one.

Random, but my experience in India there's so much hate between North and South. South Indians think they're more intellectual than North Indians, and North Indians think they're better because they're lighter skinned, so the skin lightening industry is massive. It's fucked up, makes our racism look tame.
apparently modi is very disliked in the north as hes cutting support from the farmers, among other groups up there ....

Where is the 'line' that demarks the crossing of 'north' to 'south' india?

I mean, they dont get to be on boards or ministers, but still get their cushy MLA pay to do less work. Can i volunteer for that at my job?

Well how about that, finally some action. I don't think Kenney had a choice here, the screaming just got louder and louder as time went on.

And most of it is from the Conservative side of the party. I assume all the lax policies/responses are to appease the WR side.

I thought ministers get extra pay on top of MLA and basically allows you peddle more influence to build up the network and move either up or out.

How should have Kenney made them not MLA's anymore?

I guess we're going to have to wait on that recall legislation that they campaigned on, announced at the Throne Speech back in Feb as a goal to implement, but have curiously since scrapped from their website.

I do give them some leeway as 2020 was pretty much a gong show from a government standpoint. Would be a good tool to have at the moment.

Only Beyonders would spin the story such that our politicians shouldn't be held to a higher standard.

Its not equivalent that they follow the letter of the law, as I don't know anybody that is going to use two weeks of their own vacation to quarantine. Luckily for the politicians, they aren't working right now so its basically free time for them to do whatever they want while us plebs are locked down because their rules mandate the majority of us have to sit tight.

This has nothing to do with left or right, they simply are in the wrong, glad they were stripped of whatever they could be.

Unsurprised recall legislation is gone, Kenney has finally pissed me off. Rules for thee but not for me.

That's why you measure them against other politicians in the same era. Like if McDavid played in the 80s, he would still be a crybaby.

Probably a discussion for the different thread. But just to add to that, I have noticed there is a colonial style intellectual elitism with a select group of educated Indians vs those that are from villages/towns. Its more of a 1930's British English. A slight sense of upperty, and tone in the style of English they use. I keep getting the feeling one is trying to mark their superiority though posture like the British did back in the day.

I also noticed a sense of passive aggressiveness towards me when talking to the newer generation educated Indians. The conversation always gets moved towards India vs England.
    Its a fascinating sociological observation.

Yeah the dumb dumbs who travelled outside of Canada should lose their jobs, especially those who feigned being in Alberta via their social media posts. But doesn't detract we should all still keep on with the current measures to help lower numbers, just because some dumbass politicians went on vacation doesn't mean no more social distancing or lockdowns of sort.

The level of reeeeeeeeeeeeeeee on reddit over this makes my brain hurt, yeah Kenney hasn't done anything special or fantastic across the board but this isn't end of the world level shit, cry cry cry.

Not sure what you mean? Anyways, I've voted Conservative my entire life, but recent events have me rethinking that. I think I'm going to vote NDP next election. Who else is a life long conservative like me and thinking of changing their vote?

The process to volunteer for that job is very well defined

Fat FUCK Joe Magliocca: No comment.

Also funny how people resign over vacation but someone who scams expenses doesn't. What a fat piece of shit.

are these snakes seriously not having a press conference today? all we get is a facebook post?

    that's insane.

are we the citizens of this place demanding action from our leaders? or a tinder one night stand getting dumped?

    where is the honor?

the next time Kenney shows his face it should be to resign.

Looking like Joe Magliocca seems to have travelled over the break. In his classic fashion. Probably something is about to be expensed to tax payers somewhere.
