Figure I might piss someone off calling that middle class.
Isn't that poverty level for the typical Beyonder?

$150K individual income basically places you in the top about 3% in Canada.

Surely I'll piss someone off if I share my thoughts.

I am of the opinion that $150k is the new $100k of a decade ago.

Upper middle class, but definitely middle class.

I'd be curious to see what the other spouse's wages are when talking about this. I'd wager it's unlikely both spouses have pay parity. $150k as a bachelor is great, $150k supporting a wife and two-three kids ain't.

And you have places like the maritimes dragging the stats down.

I swear we did this once, but hey why not again? What percentile does the middle class stop at? 95th? That seems too high.

Not sure if this is worthy of a new thread or not. Keep hearing people bitch about Danielle Smith, UCP, and privatizing health care and we're going to end up paying for our own treatments.
I think their true intention is a bit more hidden.

The federal government is unconstitutionally overtaxing provinces/people if they have tax money to give back for healthcare. Especially if it involves the feds dictating what you can and can't do.

By showing how bad the system is when allowing "two tiers" as Smith is a proponent, it increases the likelihood that there will be a constitutional challenge to fed healthcare bucks.

All other western countries have better, less costly healthcare then Canada does, and they all have two tier systems.

The Canada health act is a clear undermining of the constitution...never mind that the constitution is a piece of shit to begin with.

If we had a Supreme Court that wasn't a bunch of retards, there is no way the CHA would exist.

They stole the tactic from the US federal government. When something works it works.

Now let's pump this # into ratehub and see what everyone can afford for a mortgage once you deduct expenses like a car payment, etc.
    Good luck, 60% of pop.

    I suppose.
Most Canadians don't pay any income tax. I was hoping it would be better.

If a spending account can incentivize people to take better care of themselves, it would significantly decrease the burden on the entire system. In theory.
