Back to murder dungeon mode.
Wow great job.
There's quite a few areas that are not perfect, and if I paid someone to do this, I'd be pissed about the details, but then again, i was too cheap to pay someone, so it's acceptable. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
If anyone else is looking to DIY this kind of work and want it to look professional, I recommend buying the more expensive thicker vinyl planks. They should be a little easier to install, these thin ones are very easy to break the edges on. And for best install, remove the damned baseboards, lol, it will make the install portion faster. And if you are buying a "contour gauge" get the longest/deepest one you can find. I bought a really small one, and it wasn't that useful.

Perfect for what you need right now, your kids are going to ruin it soon enough.
That was my thought. Total cost was right around $500, and if I wasn't always being called away for family bullshit, it could have easily been done in one weekend. Under 20 hours actual working time, and I work slow.

I think it looks really nice, and you did a great job. These people are all jerks.
I'm satisficed with it. Materials were about $500, and I paid out $50 in beers for some power tools I needed to borrow. You aren't doing much better for $550 in any size of room.

Bump for updates.
Update on how the floor is holding up after multiple remake versions of a Metallica album cover?
very happy with the durability of the floor, cleans up nice. The few small imperfections in the installation are no worse than when I finished, but I still notice them and they bug me. Oh well, the entire top floor my my house needs new flooring eventually. I'll let the next owners deal with it.
In a square room without a closet, this would be an incredibly simple project. If I ever need to do this again, I'll spring for more expensive thicker vinyl planks, as I think that should be more forgiving and require less rework. I'd probably also get the stuff that has the underlay built in, because the underlay was actually a pain in the buttock.

Oh, like as if that's the only butt pain going on in that room!
