Is there really an quasi-ute market in NA for Hyundai to try this?

There should be a market for more utes. I just bought one.
People are insecure though, and buy full size trucks.
Full sized trucks for redneck husbands, quasi-utes for redneck wives.
Or they think they need a full size truck to haul a sheet of plywood once every 2.5 years. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Why does it have to be so goddamn ugly?

There are a lot of people driving gigantic trucks that never see a payload or even a gravel road who would likely be better served by something like this or a Ridgeline. I actually really like this class of vehicle.
Even this thing is limited in its usefulness. It only has a 4 foot box, so can't fit mtn bikes in lengthwise over the tailgate.
Offroad ???
I could follow that thing in my Accord.

2017 Jeep Cherokee Limited
Find me a new 400 hp ute for less than $40k please. Trucks have tremendous value compared to suvs. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

It has to have at least 400hp to be able to pass comfortably driving in BC...This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I'm very happily a person who dgiaf about fuel economy. Or the price of milk.
I like power and being cheap. Truck for the win. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Fuel economy is the only thing a smaller “pickup” could be better at than a full size. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
There isn’t another compelling reason to get what is essentially an SUV with a box.
Milk gives me diarrhea.

Me neither. I always wonder what kinds of vehicles people are driving that makes them care because I can't imagine very many buyers are prioritizing fuel economy when purchasing a $60K vehicle or whatever. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

They drive a lot nicer on paved roads (at least many think they do), and you can buy one with "Japanese Reliability" which is often a selling point whether or not it's true. Are there full sized trucks with the cavernous under-bed storage? I always liked that idea but maybe everyone is doing it now. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I dunno people buy tons of those hybrid luxury SUV’s
