He's right. Cars are getting 'better', but less interesting.

Eventually one day in the not-too-distant future, people are going to look at car enthusiasts like we look at train enthusiasts now.

This is why I want to own a few different cars before the inevitable “everyone is a Tesla fanboi” timeline happens, sadly I think even s2000’s are now well out of reach. You can get an e9x m3 for less than most s2000’s now, think about that.

Checks out; I'd rather have the S2000.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Am I the only person in the world who doesn’t get off on S2000’s?

E9X M3 prices are way higher than they were too.
I need an E92 sooner rather than later.

S2000 were awesome when you could buy an ok one for $12k. I can’t bring myself to buy another with prices then last 3 or so years.
I loved my S2k. The only reason I don't still have it is because it's a great third car, and I don't yet have garage space for that many. I definitely get why some people wouldn't like them though. Loud, slow unless it's being driven at 11/10ths, overpriced.
It checked a few boxes for me, the primary ones probably being 'as close to a motorcycle without being a motorcycle', and nostalgia. I don't think I can name another car that so closely aligns with the intersection of those two things (for me).

I rather maintain an S2K than an RX7. I probably could maintain 5 S2Ks for the same price as one (functional and running) RX7.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Sure, but it fits the bill of nostalgia and motorbike feelThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
That's a good one actually, but disoblige nailed it. Not only is it overpriced (even more than S2k), maint would be a killer. I value Honda reliability, even more so on a car that would be rarely driven. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
obviously you LS swap the RX7 for reliability
I don’t know why people don’t just cut out the middle man and buy a camaro
