Doesn't every vehicle have a pile of recalls? If the OP had a german car out of warranty, I don't think anything from Korea should scare them.

May be a good time to grab a V8 one now before they ditch the trusty V8 for a 3.5TT. That's all the new Land Cruiser get (along with a Diesel which I'm sure we wont' get) going forward. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
People who buys GX/LX/Land Cruiser doesn't worry about latest greatest. Only about mounting gun turret and join the Taliban and it runs all day.

We had two GLs in a row and didn't learn as quickly as you and your GF!
We also needed the same (or more) space... Once you're used to the size, it's hard to go back (hahaha), so from a GL, your options are limited to a GLS, X7 (kinda) or the domestics. We didn't even look at any Japanese or Korean makers.
We settled on a Navigator and it's been awesome for almost 2 years now. At the time, the GMs were still the old-gen which were already super dated and also not even considered... A friend has a Platinum Expedition and it's very nice as well. There are some updates coming for the MY22 Navis, and because I'm a sucker for shiny things, we'll probably swap then. We've been so happy with the truck so far, there's a very slim chance I'll bother looking at the GMs, but you never know.
All that said, I should add that I absolutely LOVE the new GLS... If we didn't need the space of the Navigator, I think that would be my pick in the segment (warts and all).
Many do, yes. Like the Takata airbag inflators in Hondas. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Most major manufacturers have recalls in the millions of units. Ford and GM are in the tens of millions, including some for fires. Not all recalls are for safety reasons though I suppose.

My 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe XL has been rock solid. Only repair has been the hatch latch.
Of you need a 7 seater for the seating, your options are limited. We had a MDX before the Yukon and it was too small for wife, myself and 2 small children. When I told the wife it had to go, she was set on a Q7, but as soon as we drove the new Yukon, she was sold. The Expedition felt dated due to the old infotainment system and tiny screen. Audi didn't feel as big as I was hoping for. Didnt look at the x7. Too much $$ didn't look at the Hyundai or Kia, but they catch my eye when I see them.....
I regret getting the rear entertainment system....
Just get her a TrackHawk. /thread
we got the baby engine and it hasn't left us wanting more yet. Mind you, its my wife's car ant I rarely drive it. I've heard good things about the mini duramax, but didn't want the hassle of diesel....and I'm cheepThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
don't ever pay extra for entertainment systems. Tablets are cheaper and so much better. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Even the most expansive iPad is bigger, and nicer, and cheaper than any in car entertainment system

Like for daily driving, or a month long vacay? How much shit do you cart around with you all the time? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Our RDX has enough room for us and our two small kids (one even in a rear facing seat still)... shit, we all fit in the GLA45. The MDX would feel like an RV.
It was more a matter of my knees smashed up against the dash and the recline near straight up. And I'm not a big guy. Could have been the kids seats are big, but don't think so. (clek) we don't need all the cargo room all the time, but do need it on occasion for the dogThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Jeep Wagoneer? Didn't see the option for wood paneling though.

Thankfully my wife is pretty short so she fits easily in front of the rear facing carseat. If we had two rear-facing at the same time (I assume this is the case for you?), we'd def need a bigger car. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Love our Palisade...
Test drove:
-Telluride: long wait and salesman were uninterested, we preferred the interior layout of the Palisade, but preferred the Telluride exterior.
-Atlas: Everything was too hard and plastic, things like seats were all manually operated compared to electronic in Palisade/Telluride. way less options overall.
-Highlander: Close 3rd.. but priced slightly higher for comparable trims
Didnt test drive any of the Yukon type line, for the same price it was the entry level model and didnt see the point.
