Have you lost that loving feeling?
Time to dig out my Top Gun Album in MiniDisc lol. I hope this movie doesn't ruin Top Gun for me.
F-yes!
Remakes like this are free money for the producers....and I will be contributing to it.
dude that initial scene of where he goes skywards and you see the dirt swirls... oh man.. the tingles. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I hope they do it in 3D. I have the 3D remastered original Top Gun at home, and it's a great way to see the movie. One of the few 3D movies that made it more immersive.
I'll be sad when the last of my 3D TV's gets upgraded.

Is there still an F-14 flying or did they probably CGI that one in?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Fuck. Yes.
do they not make 3d TVs any more? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Oh man, what a show.... but a couple of things:
- Maverick is a light-hearted cowboy , hope this continues here instead of him being all serious. The original was 'fun', cheesy and comedic at times (without trying).
- retro synthwave (80s reborn) would make a super awesome soundtrack.... although if they used some of the other tracks from the artists that didnt make the first movie, they could have some great material there too

Iran still flies them, but I doubt any of those are the one in the film. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Yeah I'd imagine not. Wasn't sure if the Navy had kept a few airworthy for airshows and whatnot. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Damn straight, the Tomcat is just so cool. I'm excited for the F14 footage even if it is CGI.This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Edit:
OK so yeah there are zero flying Tomcats in North America, the States apparently fed all surviving airworthy examples into a woodchipper to keep the Iranians from ever getting spare parts for theirs. Which is super lame.
The film borrowed a static display F14 for filming shots on a carrier, and the other good news is that the F14 plays a fairly major role in the film and isn't just there for window dressing even if the flight sequences will have to be CGI.
