But it does make your $16 bowl of Pho to go $17 sooner.

WFH I use 1/2 the gas I used to so gas is cheap. But as someone who live on Pho tho.......
Yep. This affects everyone whether you drive or not as the buck gets passed on to all consumer services.

Unless a person drives for a living (and cost of fuel is their burden, not an employers), why does this matter? Genuinely curious. Is it just a matter of principle? It's not like it's going up to $15/L.
Cost of living increase. Every household has a threshold of how much of a increase they can take on. This has a slow trickle down effect on the rest of the economy. For example one less trip to Banff for lunch. Thats two less orders for the business. Less tips for the waiters, less to order from the wholesalers. Wholesalers make cuts to adjust. Staff may get laid off etc.
The cost of delivering goods go up also. This gets passed onto the business who in turn pass it onto the customer. Its a slow effect that gets felt later.

Electricity jumping too, but still works out in your favor. I'm still WFH so I don't know what the real impact will be whenever I have to go back to the office lol

Tracked it going to my dads up north for a early thanksgiving and was 110$ in gas in the Fiesta there and back. Definitely feeling the spike in prices, especially having to run premium.

Yes, I'm aware of the mechanics.

COL increases over time. The sky is also blue. That's why I was questioning the pertinence of this subject in particular (to which the answer is "just complaining for the sake of complaining", not actually anything interesting).

I expect this to be the norm in short order.
