It’s better now, but at the beginning of summer it was abysmal. Cases is hard to compare as different provinces enacted different criteria to get tested. ICU is also hard to make any correlation as the numbers are based on the hospital zone the patient is in, not where they were shipped from. So really, deaths is the closest metric where we can figure out which health regions (that’s as granular as I can get) got hit the hardest. There’s some bias in average age in each region skewing numbers a little, but it’s the best we have. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Since July 1st, the Covid deaths/100k rate by region and % fully vaccinated (today) looks like this:
Calgary 7.5 82%
Edmonton 11.9 80%
Central 37.9 66%
North 31.7 66%
South 41.1 72%
It’s purely on rural Alberta dragging the province down from slow vaccination uptake, not lack of restrictions. Now if you think anyone, especially the NDP could have convinced rural Alberta to follow whatever restrictions they would’ve enacted, or convince them to get vaccinated quicker, I got a bridge to sell you.

You said "open for summer was dumb".This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Rage said "BC did the same thing".
You had earlier said "Rachel would've done better".
Rachel is NDP and Horgan is NDP.
So it's further to my example that I don't believe that the left leaning provinces really do any better or worse because it's not about politics. It's about vaccine %.
Since BC has been mentioned BC still had restrictions in place that Alberta did not throughout the summer and has restrictions tied to first and second shots which Alberta did not. And when things got bad they put more restrictions in place to keep things under control ie masks in Kelowna over the summer. Bc has its fair share of inbread redneck … but they have faired way better then Alberta. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
They did not say covid is over let’s party at stampede like it’s 1999… as things where spinning out of control JK went on vacation for three weeks …. Not a leader.
Don’t get me wrong notley is nuts … but like a said it is a hate vote if kenney still leader …
He did fine for the 1st 3 waves. Open for Summer is a messaging issue. As Rage pointed out, BC basically did the same but didn't advertise as full hands off to keep caution in people's heads. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
JK only lost me during late Aug when he goes hiding for O'Toole (or trying to keep up Best Summer Ever slogan or appease rural base... pick your poison) and basically everything he pivoted to do in Sep should have been done in Aug. BC being 3 weeks-1 month ahead on vax passport is a good indication.
Before that, he handled wave 1-3 just fine and I can't see how anyone can do better.

Wave one was the same everywhere... no fault there... wave 2 and 3 and 4 where Kenney fuck ups, he should have reacted way sooner... he did not listen to science, he let the redneck mouth breathers do what they want... he did not lead... he needs to go. If you accept poor leadership kenney is your man! This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
BC was not fully open there was still lots of restrictions in place, rage is wrong on this point. there fully open as in the same as Alberta was stage 4 and they where in stage 3 all summer and rolled back certain stage 3 things in different areas through out the summer.

Again tell me what's difference between BC's stage 3 and 4 in term of openness?
The only caveat they put in is the "Safety Plan" that I'm sure everyone read and followed.
Meanwhile Stampede while opened, actually follow more closely to BC's spectator limit policy.
Again AB's messaging is the issue. BC kept PHO Guidance in place to keep everyone aware we are not out of this yet but AB just say life is back to normal.
In the end all 3 western provinces had the same/similar issue with 4th wave. Just at slightly different times. But BC announcing vaccine passport on Aug 23rd probably help a bit to get the last bit of hesitant population to get their shot ahead of the wave.

He tried "following science" when he addressed the province April 7, 2020 and this shit fell out of his mouth:This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Which is pretty close to the wrongest thing anyone has said about Rona in the past 18 months. Science is a liar, sometimes (AlwaysSunny.jpg)
So I have trouble blaming him for not going up and spouting out verbatim whatever Dr. Skeletor or Hinshaw or Fauci or whoever the fuck told him to say that horse shit in April, 2020 because that made him look like a completely discredited moron. He had a right to second guess the barrage of advice after that day.
(Note that I don't like him and didn't vote for him, so don't jump straight to the "anything in a blue shirt" garbage).
If Covid has left you with the impression that gov'ts are largely populated by idiots and are an impotent way to handle most issues (let alone crises), then you are on the right track.
Every answer is the wrong answer to at least 40% of the population when it comes to COVID measures.
It's a no win scenario.

Romantic relationship, intoxicated at work? sounds juicy. Why can't they just paint their faces black or do some cultural appropriation things?
Oh really? Why is it always this bullshit? Just some chick with an axe to grind. The statement also notes Kimmel was previously in an on-again, off-again romantic relationship with Dreeshen prior to her role as chief of staff.
Reaching lol. Very reaching.
Pretty sure it’s not against leg policy to drink in the office. So this is just a spurned relationship yelling at clouds.
If people have an issue with a drinking on the job, they might not want to look to the NDP as an example lol
