Did Ontario roll that back? Use to be a thing out there?
They have reverse duck curve, out of power during the day and basically have to give it away at night thanks to nuclear power.

They put time based rate on hold when everyone is working from home, not sure if they have moved back.

All these people supporting EVs and green power but saying no to nuclear is special kind of retarded.

saying no to nuclear is retarded. Alberta needs a bunch of SMR's for baseload power, would be wicked.

    Dispatcho.app

Shows what the AB grid is doing at any given time

Some of it is a bit top level, especially the likes of Cavalier and Medicine Hat, as it lists them as one asset even though they're multiple units, but neat otherwise

Yes. Yes. Yes. Alberta even has uranium deposits.

Then we could weaponize plutonium and take over as the capital of Canada.

It’s coming, a yuge base load plant that should be firing 2024.

    1GW, west of Edson.

NG, you bet. That’s fine, we’re not so delusional here that we’d get away from proper base loading - I’d like to think, anyway.

We export electricity in Alberta, so its not really important hour to hour. Peak summer day/week though, that is important. In the energy starved parts of the USA, and Eastern Canada - hour to hour is ok.

Which begs the idea, solar panels for passive cooling through Airconditioning.

My prediction is that governments will topple over this.

    Germany's should for sure.

I'd say Britains as well but it seems all of their pary's are in the green loony bin, so not sure what toppling a government over something that the next guy would have done worse would accomplish.

Eastern Canada's governments come to mind, maybe we Trudeau will try an NEP 2.0. Good thing we don't have any pipelines to the east to enable such nonsense.
