Am I the only one. Who expected a lot more snow considering the amount of whining about it yesterday?

Yup. I wasn't expecting any real amount of snow. I was expecting crazy windows and definitely got my share of that last light. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Neighbours big tree went down onto their SUV.
So there was wind. Not much snow.
We have lots of old trees around here. Wouldn't shock me if we lost one or two. But haven't seen any.

Man. I wish a tree would fall on my house. A really big tree. Or 3.
Preferably city owned trees

Our lease is coming to an end, a tree would be welcome.
Probably better to just sell that lease back to the dealer for an equity profit right now unless you have new car replacement coverage or something. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I see Enmax driving around in their picker reviewing trees and power lines. Willing to bet a few older trees or wood poles are compromised.
Was out at my moms place and had to drive back right in the thick of it. It was fucking crazy. Total whiteout and absolute zero visibility. Normal 25 min drive took an hour and 10 mins. First 10 mins weren't great but not horrible. Then it got super shitty. Some people just stopped in the road and waited. I had to stop a couple times just to get my bearings and see where I was on the road surface. Then I came up to an RCMP cruiser who had his lights on and he was stopped in the middle of the road. I pulled up next to him and rolled my window down. I could barely make out the side profile of his cruiser but I couldn't see him at all. I just called out if the road ahead was passable or not and he said it was but there are 5 cars in the ditch about 200 meters ahead. He then asked me how it was from where I came from. I said it was really bad. There were people stopped on the road going your direction so watch out. You won't see them until you hit them. He then asked about a truck in the ditch from where I came and if I saw it. I said I did, there were other people stopped assisting them and I had no place to stop so I carried on. He said that was his call he was going to.
Told him good luck and I carried on. Sure enough 200 meters ahead is total chaos. Which was interesting because I thought it wasn't anywhere near as bad as what I just drove thru.
I have driven that road many, many times before and in really bad conditions but that one takes the cake. By far the worst conditions I've driven in in my life so far. Still, I told myself numerous times, 'Could be worse.... I could be on QEII right now.'
Looking around
Wondering what became
Of what I once knew
Great job meteoretardogists!
You almost guessed the overnight low within 7°C... Almost.
Did they fuck up that bad? Wasn't it supposed to be ~ -20? Car said -20.5 this AM?This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
In better news the next 10 days are looking pretty awesome.
I am 100% ok if the polar vortex goes and settles in over some more populous parts of the continent.
