Russia is probably selling natgas to China at maybe 2x to 3x (not 7x or 8x) "normal" price, in exchange for real goods - which is probably more valuable than any currency. Natgas demand is even more inelastic than the world consuming 100 million barrels per day.

Russia sells half as much natgas to China for 2x the price, China sells that natgas and roundabout gets to Europe for 8x the price. Putin still gets money even if he can only ship out half as much natgas. Middlemen all get rich as well. Canada doesn't have a single ship that supplies europe, yet it eventually ends up in Europe anyhow.

Saying out loud what noone want to say. Personally I would have said France leaving NATO, but its not impossible that with mid-terms, there is a small but outside chance of the USA leaving NATO. Trump sure got mad at NATO too (primarily for not paying enough into it)

Britain already exited the economic union, some say that a military union is even more difficult to maintain.

What people tend to not realize is that the core of the negotiation of NATO was actually done between Britain and the USA. Now that Britain has Brexit - there is not as much of a reason to support the rest of Europe, certainly not Ukraine - which arguably was mostly Nazi (in mind and spirit) at the time of the formation of NATO.

If Russia had not managed to push back Germany as quickly as it did, the USA back in WWII might very well have been shooting at Ukraine themselves.

Wrong on so many level. China get a discount by trading in yuan which is all time low. Everything is at 30% discount to start with.

Xi also banned Petro China to throw those gas back onto the market after initial report that Petro China was going to do it.

And until the new pipeline flows in 5-6 years thru Mogolia (if), then Russia may reach 30% of sales compare to before.

And what's China going to need Nat gas for? They got coal and burning nat gas will increase cost for them. And it's not like their economy is that hot anyway.

Yuan is irrelevant when there is direct trade. Putin sends wheat, China sends plastic toys - noone uses US dollars.

Communist countries can do this with relative impunity. Its capitalist countries that require trade in currencies. When times are good, capitalism is much more efficient.

Energy conversion is a thing. When China starts and finishes off the Tsangpo Dam, there is not a power cable long and thick enough in the world to push it from the Himalayan peak to any city of appreciable size in China. The plan seems to be to put a ginormous silicon wafer plant and put all that energy into making solar panels, which then can be sold to the world.

Will China use the natgas from Russia to create a few extra solar panels to sell to Europe for exhorbitant pricing? Probably already happening. Is it the correct thing to do? Depends on who you ask. It does mean that the natgas is not going to German nitrogen ammonia fertilizer plants.

Ground in Ukraine maybe. But mentioned: Putin may try to gain foothold in Haiti. That would be enough for the USA to stop sending guns and ships to Europe and instead to the Florida area. and of course Haiti directly.

The naval blockade during the Cuban missle crisis was impressive in that it basically stopped every other US war around the planet.

Depends on what your version of winning is. They thought they could roll in and install a puppet dictator in Kiev. Months later they are no closer to their objective of de-nazifying Ukraine and their military is captured or destroyed. It's only a matter of time before Ukraine regains all territory lost and then some, meanwhile Russia will be alone on the international stage.

So yeah, Russia is going to lose this war.
