What does Ukraine concede so that Putin can save face, assuming Ukraine is even interested in negotiating?

I bolded my prediction above, that is why I was saying it's pretty crazy when he is pinned with no way out. If he retreats from Ukraine without some agreement, he will forever look weak, as will Russia, and I don't think he can do that. I can only see him escalating to get what he wants. I don't think he sees it as a mistake, probably more like a miscalculation in his mind.

I don't know everything he is looking for, but it appears he wants international recognition of Crimea is Russian as one of the conditions, and unless Ukraine is ready to forget about it, I doubt that would ever happen.

I bet most people in his inner circle are of the same mindset and rather enjoy they cozy life (we will see what sanctions might do). If anything I think one of the oligarchs who lost a ton of money might snap and hire a killer, but really, they would have to be paying him a ton of money (and not in rubles) for anyone to consider this...it's a pretty high risk game...FSB is everywhere...
