There is a man that comes around the neighborhood in the late afternoon. He sells hot samosas on his cart and shouts out 'hot samosas'.
I ran down amd grabbed six. Only .50 cents. (I was not charged for a bag either) & they came with a mini bag of green chutney.
    They tasted delcious.
Side note. The Cocacola tastes amazing here.

I've seen too many Tiktok videos of street food in India that comes with free diarrhea, so it is legit? Not racist.

The food looks great. But for some reason it is really off putting to me that they serve everything in bags haha (and yes, I know that's normal for lots of places in the world, I still don't like it).

Its a fair question and not racist at all.
TikTok will show the best and worst of things.

By the same token and for funnies I could reverse the question and ask. Do you have a wife/girlfriend here in the west that cares for you, cooks for you, you have a stable relationship and is not banging the neighbor or has a only fans account? Is it a legit relationship? Cos Tiktok is showing me otherwise. Joke joke...

Street food is a spectrum here. Social media will show the extremes. Think of it like buying a hotdog from 7-11 at 3am (don't any of you act like you don't know what im talking about, we all been there).

If you don't get sick while travelling are you even travelling? You will get some sort of travel bug here. Its part of the cultural exchange and experience.
Some people call it diarrhea, I like to call it a gentle inner cleanse. A blessing by the food gods as a reminder not to take such things for granted. I know people who have gotten sick in Europe eating in decent places.

I was at a real bougee place last week. Water fountains and all. The kind of place that would make some of the nice restaurants in Calgary look like Walmart Mcdonalds in West Brook Mall on a Tuesday evening. But TikTok is not going to show you that.

I will say this. I fucking hate these videos with a overlay of humming Egyptian music that show these food vendors in a bad light.
Sure I would not eat from there. But who I am I to judge a man thats hustling to make a bit of money to provide for his family? He never had the same education, safety, comfort or environment we had. Why are we judging him? Same reason why we turn our heads if a homeless person is stealing a loaf or bread or a homeless woman is stealing a pair of gloves on a winter night. We are either helping them pay or it. Or we are shutting the fuck up and going about our own business.

The level of poverty here has many extreme layers I don't think people in the west can even comprehend. Its not a joke.

Side note. I have not seen Chicken Vindaloo on the menu here.

I went and bought some Tandoori fish from Sanju Chicken hut last night. They cooked it right in front of me in a giant tandoori oven. We've have food from here before but its always delivered. I decided to go for a walk and pick it up myself. Lets just say when I got there and seeing the place...I had reservations about it.
It defo would not pass the City of Calgary food health inspection. But the fish tasted delicious and my stomach was fine.

All you have been doing is making passive aggressive remarks when I posts on this forum recently.
I could use a British expression and ask 'Why are you behaving like a cunt when I post?'. But that may be to much for the gentle ears.

Its a discussion forum. A legit question was asked by DJ_Rice as by others on this forum that I reply to.
If you have nothing to add, contribute or even add funnies why make such posts...?
If you are going to take the piss. At least do me the respect and honor and diss me properly. Is that too much to ask? English is such a rich language, perhaps too rich for some. I get it can be frustrating to have a immigrant speak better English than you. I get it, feels odd to be the minority for once right?

Or maybe I am being too harsh....Maybe ...I am missing something or looking at this the wrong way.... Perhaps.... its something else...and then it hit me as I was typing this.

We have all have watched the movie American Beauty. The frustration and passive aggressiveness by Colonel Frank Fitts. Killramos your passive aggressive posts are no exception. It fits the profile perfectly. Why did I not see it earlier? It all makes sense now.

You are welcome to come to the next Beyond meet and talk about it directly. I'l even buy you a beer. Extra Slow is a great listener too.

I mean... I won't be able to hold your hand in the moonlight if you get what I mean. Those flavors are not for me.
But... but....its ok though. I don't judge. LOVE is LOVE, I understand. People have different ways of expressing their love for me. Yours is no exception.
I have that affect on ALL people...by all genders. You want something, but you cant. Its frustrating... I get it.
I get that feeling too when I want to order a chicken tika masala when the takeout has just closed. I sit on the toilet in a sad solace and think of what could have been.

I just want you to know that whenever you feel frustrated and make these passive aggressive posts on myself or anyone else. All of us on Beyond will be reminded of you being this character below. It will be etched in our minds forever so we will have sympathy and empathy of your inner frustration.
But I want you to know...Beyond is a safe space. You are safe here.

I am heading out to the local market later today called 'Chaura Bazar'. As a souvenir I can buy you a white t-shirt for your collection. Think of it like a peace offering.

On with the thread. Guess what I had for dinner.
It felt odd ordering by the kilo and looking over at its friends. Not sure how I felt about that.
    I didn't get sick though....Hell.. I can't believe it either.

Whipped up a nice French onion soup inspired risotto, fridge was a little bare so was going with what I had.

Surprisingly delicious, will make again. Wish I would have had some Gruyère to garnish. Next time.

I rarely have mushrooms on hand. Onions and beef stock on the other hand…

I’d never tried a beef stock rissoto and really liked the earthy depth it brought. Probably great with mushrooms.

I tried the Butter chicken burger.
    Portion sizes were smaller.
It sounds odd saying this. The fries did not taste like normal McDonald's fries. They actually tasted like potatoes.
