Seeing the number of “my wife makes more than me” post in this thread (self included), I really wonder what the conversations are on Pinterest or whatever forum equivalent women use if this topic comes up.

So is it fair to assume the ~50% of unhappy guys aren't divorced because of kids?

Which thread has the happiness poll? It aint this one. You could be fully happy with your current marriage and still not want another if it were to end for some reason.

The only negative in my marriage is my wife's family. Thankfully they are 4000km away now and was partially the influence for our moving back to Alberta a second, and final, time.
Life is long so I'll never say never but I can't picture a scenario where I can ever build this again. To go from where I am to divorced would have to be such a fundamental change in my life that I wouldn't be the same person on the other side and I'm pretty fuckin' sure it wouldn't turn me into Mr. Happy either. Long term common-law style relationship? Sure, probably, but I'll never build this again.

That would imply you are getting a redo on marriage. And considering the responses in this thread, it seems marriage hasn't been all its cracked up to be for a lot of guys.
So I don't think it's unreasonable to assume the people who are currently married are unhappy, and interested in why they stay like this.

You know what I wouldn't do again? Have a fucking wedding. People had a good time but I can pay for a party that is much cheaper than a wedding and have my friends have the same memories. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

The trick is just marrying a girl who’s parents pay for the wedding.
Would you do it again?
If I could go back in time knowing what I know now I would still marry my present wife and have the kids but I would do a number if things differently both in regards to myself and the relationship.
If something happens to this marriage, I will absolutely not be getting married again. The risks which are not small chance occurences far outweigh the benefits. I have my kids already, marriage serves no purpose otherwise. I would rather spin plates, ideally in non westernized countries for that matter and not have to deal any kind of family law or court(again).
