Good post Bob. Timely. Wife's says we need a new mattress so I'd better get all this figured out.

I will be digging into the "how do I return this thing?" logistics for endy etc, because I can see that being a real requirement. I know I can't fit a king size mattress in my truck.

Guess if I buy mail-order I'd need to pay to have the old one hauled away too.

How foam for sexy times? I know Bobs a horny goat.
Horny Goat is down with the sickness right now…

I was reading reviews where guys said Endy just organized for a charity to pick it up. Not sure if that would be the case every time but I didn’t find anyone saying they made it difficult. I didn’t spend days looking by any means though.

I won’t be sending it back so no help…

I've had an Ikea innerspring mattress for ten years, and it's still working well. I strongly advise you to try them out in person to see which you prefer, especially since everything is more expensive.

Consumer Reports recommend avocado mattresses for what it's worth. If they have a showroom near you, it might be worth looking at.

Queen-size is a good compromise for one or two people, and the sheets are slightly less expensive than King size. Buying online is also a good idea from sites with white glove delivery.

Been reading through a million reviews, and seems like a lot of the memory foam mattresses "sleep warm" and to combat this some have gel layers. So both of those sound bad. Looking for a memory foam mattress that has NO GEL and ideally some kind of air channel construction as I'm a sweaty beast even when I'm not warm. Seriously no gel, breathability is my top priority. Suggestions?

Why do you want a foam mattress?

Just go to Canadian Mattress Warehouse and buy a decent normal mattress.

So I bought a Juno foam mattress for my RV. Works well. Only $550 for king size.

Yep, king bed. I've been quite pleased with how less shitty newer RVs are.

Anyone with an endy finding the life span of the mattress to not be so long? I think I’ve had mine for 5ish years and it seems to be killing my back now lol. Feel like it’s not supporting like it once did even with rotating it etc.. on a golf trip and my back feels way better on the hotel mattress than it does at home

I tried Endy and it hurt my back like nothing else and returned it. I'm still on the hunt for a good mattress that doesn't break the bank.

I find even with spring mattresses at the 7 year mark they're pretty well done.

I’ve yet to find a pure foam mattress that’s enjoyable. Just seems like they’re dirt cheap so a lot of companies sprung up with the mattress in a box model.

4-5 years later and still loving our Logan & Cove mattress. Best mattress I've ever owned, still holding up without any sinking/issues.

can not do the bed in a box foam stuff
went to the bay (2019) and laid down on those caspers, 3/4/5 layers and all no no no
firm pocket coil bed is the way to go for me (maybe asians prefer firm idk lol)
picked up a king bed waterfront series off kvg when he worked at the brick mattress store over 10 years ago and it's still going very strong

Have had my $500 extra firm Ikea bed for seven years now, and it's still doing great.

I believe Sealy makes the Ikea beds.
I like Kirkland Signature by Stearns & Foster.
Never liked foam, and latex was still too hot.
There's huge mark up on mattresses and I refuse to shop at places like Sleep Country (only offers exchange, not refund).
I find $2k is the point of diminishing returns. I'd rather get a $1500 mattress every 3 years than spend $3000+ on a mattress and keep it 5 years+. Springs wear out and newer is always better.
