We are 4 points back of teams who have played fewer games, and there's only games against Toronto and Boston before the deadline.

Take a breather, take the foot off the gas, gather assets and make a plan.

They would be buyers but it would be too little, too late. Brass seems to have given up on the season. Maybe they are going to hold on to everyone and do work in the off season.

Kind of funny that the Flames and Panthers are both doing so much worse and Columbus just sucks. It was lose-lose all around.

There are some interests in Backlund and Lindholm and likely some other vets. Hate to see Backlund go (family reason and others) but if he can go to a contender that would be good for him. Better if we can get a pick and a good young guy. Would look good in Colorado.

Trying to be "competitive" every year only breeds mediocrity.
The NHL is very boom and bust, you need to build a team through the draft. The highly successful teams have young high impact players on ELC's supporting their top end players.

Again, the Flames need to swallow their pride and start selling to actually rebuild properly.

I say that because our biggest problem is in Goal. They have not steal a point for us, and most likely lost 10-12points throughout the season. If you take that 10-12 points and we'll be in first right now. I dont actually believe the team is that bad. Just our goalies are super trash

Markstrom tackling Monahan right after puck drop in MTL is burned into my mind.
I still think Markstrom will work through it though, but just not this year. I'd hate to see him go somewhere else and return to the wall that he is.

I've always believed one of the core issue is the Flames just loves to play to the level of their opponent. So I welcome Boston over a bottom seeded team, it also allows us, coaching staff to assess what is truly lacking since Boston is one of the best teams out there
