this franchise really does deserve for a bunch of inflation strapped middle class families to give them a few hundred million to build a building.

can someone dig up all the quotes from after the 2 big trades at the end of last year. It was amazing how excited everyone was for this season. They should be good for a few laughs.
Amazing how it all started with the oilers destroying the flames in the playoffs.
Blaming the refs for a bad bounce in Game-81 is fucking adorable. What an incredibly arrogant and terrible lack of accountability. Calgary needed to beat these last 10 games like an NHL team playing a WHL team and they didn't do that, once.
They played like shit and they deserved to lose.

On March 10, 2023 calgary lost to Anaheim. Dig up Post #370.
That's the day it was over.

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
Not fair to count points of an individual on a good team vs one on a bad team. Both are skewed.
Not to say we "won" the trade or anything. Probably too early. And not like flames had a choice anyway, had to trade chuck either way.

93% Avg Flames game attendance.
Murray does not care. Still filling his pockets.
Gonna be hard to watch this team when Markstrom skates onto the ice game one in October
I hope the entire coaching staff is fired in the off season, everyone failed at their job badly, I don't see any point in running it back with the same crew.
Whether that's the result of Tre getting let go, which I actually don't want, this season was fucking terrible and the team looks good on paper...find someone to get the results of said team.
Sutter was flat out atrocious with player use/management, terrible calls and decisions, fucking terrible line juggling, on and on.
Kirk Muller might be Dave Cameron wearing a mask.
No idea what Labarbera does or did this season, both goalies were trash. Markstrom is fucking trash this year, I don't know if he'll bounce back or what his issues are.
I doubt anyone takes Markstrom so he's to hoping next season is Markstrom and Wolf as backup, with Wolf proving himself and we launch Markstrom into the sun.
Perfectly fitting that their playoffs hopes are ended in ANOTHER loser point game. LOL
Reasons the Flames missed the playoffs:
- 17 loser points.... this is mind boggling. Win a fucking OT game.
- Markstrom.
- Kadri sucked last half of season.
- Huberdeau sucked first half of season.
- Mangiapane forgot how to score and/or stay on his feet.
- Terrible power play.
And then specific to Sutter:
- Sutter is brain dead and living in early 2000's style hockey.
- Lucic/Lewis/other plugs played far too much and way too much in key times of the game.
- No youth injected into the lineup. Why didn't Pelletier not play at all down the stretch?
- Fucking around in the media and pissing off Huberdeau.
- Fucking around and pissing Kadri off.
- Fucking around and pissing multiple other players off.
Glad this team didn't squeak in... couldn't take another Edmonton McDavids thumping in the playoffs.
The Jets deserve to be in it. They just had a bad month. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

30 games lost by a single goal. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I think I posted this before but if you had 1) Markstrom makes 10 more saves in tight games and 2) your forwards get 10 more goals in tight games, you'd have at least 10 more points in the standings, and this team could be looking at third in the division.
Funny thing is, if that's all we had, we'd actually not be that much "better" of a team, but then again, maybe it's be good for our confidence, which is a big thing. Nothing succeeds like success, so a winning record would help the psychology a lot, and that'd make then less fragile maybe?
I dunno. Team has same tendencies they've had for a decade, crumble under pressure.
