Where would you poli-sci majors place the dems and republicans considering that universal health care still doesn’t exist in the usa?

hiring 50,000 useless government employees and the perpetual liabilities associated with that decision come to mind
“there has been practically no relative growth in the public sector as a percentage of the total population since the mid-1970s. From 1976 to 2018, the national figure increased from 9.84 percent to 10.23 percent, while the comparable figures for Alberta are 10.29 and 10.23 percent, respectively.“ so the NDP just matched what the previous decades of PC/UCP did?

Trying to express it as a percentage of an arbitrary in order to make it appear smaller, doesn't change the addition of 50,000 "jobs". Although it does quite accurately highlight left wing thought process.

I don't know if the Parkland Institute is any less biased than the Fraser Institute but the FI reported compltetely different numbers:

    • The recent growth in government sector employment began in July 2014 and has continued through the latest month of available data at the time of writing (May 2018). Over the period, government employment increased by 78,733 (21.5 percent) while private sector employment (excluding self-employed) fell by 46,267 (3.0 percent). As a result, the government sector’s share of total employment (excluding self-employed) increased from 19.5 percent to 23.2 percent—a level not observed in Alberta since 1994.
    • In contrast, Saskatchewan—another energy-dependent province affected by the drop in commodity prices—increased its government sector employment by just 2.1 percent from July 2014 to May 2018. That is a tenth of Alberta’s government sector employment growth rate (21.5 percent) over the same period.
    • Another way to look at the data is to examine the government sector’s share of total employment excluding self-employment. Figure5 displays the share of government sector employment during the most recent period of itsgrowth (July 2014 to May 2018). At the start of this period, the government sector’s share oftotal employment (excluding self-employment)was 19.5 percent, which expanded markedly to23.2 percent by May 2018—a high proportion ofgovernment employment by the standards ofthe past two decades. In fact, the last time thegovernment sector’s share of total employmentwas this high was in 1994 (Statistics Canada,2018a).

Alberta ain't gonna make a dime if the G7 continues to impose oil (and natural gas) price caps. When did Putin become the greatest capitalist and Europe become full commie?

Canada is meh. Breaking away from the G7 would be the real deal. But it would come at great cost.

France could leave both the EU and NATO in one breath.

That number includes all public employees, including municipal and federal, and the way the data was reported is just weird.. Im no economist, but this guy is:

(TL;DR: AB govt employment didn't rise by 40k, and the increases that did occur were almost entirely health and education.)

Trevor Tombe is quite partisan. Also the rise in inflation blindsided him. Because he's barely an economist these days, more like hack poli-sci wannabe.

This is always the case with oil. It has never been a free market.

Prices too low? USA demands production cuts. Prices too high? USA demands production increases.

The only time oil is worthwhile in Alberta is when the US creates a war somewhere.

Tombe literally gets the definition of inflation wrong. The fucking guy is a professor at a university and he doesn't even know what inflation is.

    He literally doesn't.

Maybe you need a refresher to your absolutism.

Try and Remeber economic "theory" isn't like a science theory. It's a bunch of nonsense by a bunch of big wigs trying to sound smart, but most of it has no merit.... like money printing causes inflation. Lol.

Do yolotard and zentard quote each other? It just occurred to me that they probably do. That sounds like a horrifying ignoreception.

I don't recall zEnTaRd ever quoting anyone (before I found the ignore button). He spends a lot of time shouting in the dark. I totally would bet that Stoma quotes it, though. LoL!!
