Porsche and Ferrari have been playing this as a long game for a while, but still need to be measured in their approach to pricing their cars. The bull run on cars won't last forever, so eventually when a long term client has to take an L, you hope he's had enough Ws that his brand loyalty can weather the storm.

Lambo is pretty new to not having their cars depreciate like rocks, so they need to be extra careful with pricing strategy... Going too high could stunt demand, in turn diminishing brand equity and erode any gains they've made recently. Leaving money on the table now with the Reveulto is the right strategy and that can be recouped with subsequent special editions and increased brand image that will allow them to raise prices across the range.

They’re about to get really expensive. Expect the huracan replacement to be over $350k and the revuelto to be well over $600k.

So they priced the Revuelto at $695k cad. Most are coming out in the high 800s after luxury tax. Pretty crazy $ for their flagship car…

+1, also added to "float" for me would be "fly". A brand new R44 helo with 0 hours on it can be found for $450k, or a RV8 plane with less than 100 hours total time is around $180k. Float/Fly would both be good times IMO, but a car you can use daily for 6+ months per year, while floating/flying would typically end up being a weekly thing, at best, at least for me and most others I'd wager, due to the cost/time/etc factors. At least in my segment and circle of people, who aren't baller by any stretch, but aren't "poor", having followed the not be poor flow chart.

edit - then I see the pics of Bavarian's stunning blue Lambo, your M2, the NSX, Audis, M240i manual, etc on these pages, and just want to say fuck it, here we go...however, finding a replacement that will usurp the LC500 is a very, very tough proposition IMO, unless doubling the price and moving up to an R8 and etc. Checks all the right boxes, but the "Shak" infection of getting bored/lcd with your car yearly, infected me as well long ago, I'm just in the next price bracket down atm.

I don't understand how people can be excited about a hybrid supercar.

In October I park my (gated!@!) LP640 roadster, disconnect the battery, then come back in May, reconnect the battery and change the oil. I can do this for the next 10,20,30,etc. years without any issue.

Now I have a hybrid Revuleto. In 8-12 years I'm going to come out in the spring and find I need to spend $200k on a battery/install. And said battery may or may not even exist depending on how technology has evolved.

I guess it's not a problem if you plan to dump the car after a few years?

Cars are made for the first buyer. What happens after that isn't of concern for the manufacturer.
In 8-12 years, 95% of new Revello buyers have bought 6-9 replacement vehicles and moved on with their life.
