People avoid math when they are not confident in it.

And what makes it worse is ESL people tend to avoid asking questions if they don't understand the first time. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

I also do not know the full details, i.e., the specific numbers told verbally and then ultimately written down but I understand there to be a large discrepancy. And the person assisting them now ran the math and said it seems like they have added on top of the purchase price the equivalent amount of interest that would equal to 7% over the term had they gone with that option, to offer this .99% deal. Fuckin weird. I am going to chat with them more in detail today and have the paperwork sent to me, will see what can be done.

Dealer tried to use the "you can pay the loan early, but make sure you don't do it for at least like 9 mos because the bank wants to make some money too"
uummm... no.
Will use my own capital/finance thanks. That one rubbed me the wrong way.

Yeah, Ford tried to pull that with me. I took the loan for the $1,500 discount and paid it the next day. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

If you pay it off the next day, you don't need to pay off the interest you owed for the entire term on the agreement you signed? Just accrued interest?

Is the market crash short lived? Trying to shop for a CUV for a co-worker, and used prices (particularly Toyota) is back up to new price levels. New cars are still 10+ months out, and not even hybrids.
