I got a chuckle out of this. Perhaps the most American thing about this car… rip off the Germans by doing the “signing” the engine thing, and it turns out their engines are assembled by 8 year olds who just learned how to write.

Looks like the "signatures" that people who can't figure out how Acrobat works since this brand new pandemic thing has us working at home for the next couple weeks to flatten the curve.
Do people still fall for the signing engine thing still? German or otherwise?

I dont understand autographs. Coveting someone else's signature seems so weak sauce and lame. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
I don't know man, if you had a Wayne Gretzky jersey signed by Wayne or a Patriots jersey signed by Brady and Gronk, would you still feel the same way? This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
The engine autograph is kind of silly though I'll give you that, nobody knows or cares who "Mike Ward" is.
Ya I would. I would auction it off to a sucker that feels validated by another man's signature. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Pretty sure the Ford SVT product engines have been signed for years...i recall one on my 1998 SVT ragtop and the 03 lightning i owned. Modern day GT500's are still signed as well. not sure who copied who first....but its been around for awhile.
I think it's a boomer with bad hips and jorts sitting at A&W car meets with a sandwich Board of factory features listed thing.
At least the German AMG autographs look nice even if the concept is stupid.
