They are not endangered at all.
But they are protected.
You definitely cannot shoot them.
If you are not shooting them, you cannot do it with destroyer ammo:

If you are not shooting them, make sure you don't shoot them with an air rifle that is rated below the point where it becomes a firearm (500 fps):

If you are not shooting them, make sure you zero your scope with some test shots and figure out your distances to figure out your height over bore aim point and trajectories.
Also, if you are not shooting them, make sure you don't shoot them from cover such as from within your garage with a backstop of your house siding to catch any errant rounds. And make sure you don't shoot from deep in that cover to avoid your barrel sticking out the door or window.
And finally, if you are not shooting them, don't bury them in your yard with a pellet still in them. Don't carry them to the nearest ravine and toss em in for the coyotes to eat.
