    Default Insurance premium spikes

Did anybody elses insurance premiums spike this year?

Aviva raised my premium on my daily driver (2004 mustang cobra) by 50% in spite of no accidents/tickets/changes.

Da faq ... meanwhile Hagerty raised all 14 of my 'collector' vehicles by $0

Hagerty has the pay for what your value your car, within reason.
Basically a self appraisal program which is good.
They emailed to say, re assess based on 2023 pricing.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

Just ran an indicative quote from the personal. Looks like they are going to be under 50% of what TD wants for my home insurance.

Will see where the cars land but it’s going to be difficult to justify staying with TD with that kind of delta.

Well, have you gotten otehr quotes? There's at least 8 good quality insurance companies out there. I recommend talking to at least one broker and at least 1 other large insurer to price-check things.

And cars are landing at 2/3 what td is currently charging me.

I've never seen TD come in competitive, ever.

TD was great as a university student / EIT. The early discount actually made a solid difference for me. Once I got an established driving record though they became less competitive over the years.

My house insurance stayed the same.

This is the first time in over a decade of driving that I have seen someone come in under TD when shopping around.

You either have your OWN jet, or you do not have a jet at all.
