The party system does not work. Everyone should be voted in as independent. Then at least everyone could vote for the candidate that best represents them.

I really, really don't like the NDP and I've always voted conservative, but I just might vote for NDP because Smith is about as trustworthy and hypocritical as Trudeau. It's either that or throw away my vote to the Green candidate so I can at least say, "I didn't vote for this mess," when it all hits the fan. I only have those three choices. If the UCP had a leader that was normal and worth voting for, I would likely vote for them.
You should get checked for strokes.

I'll never understand that line of thinking unless you work for a union.

Always vote the party who will support the economy and economic growth.
I don't work for a union and hopefully never will. Unions are a cancer. I am all for economic growth but I am not going to vote for a party with a nutter at the helm, regardless. Hoping for a NDP minority so that little can get done and Smith gets the boot. If Smith would get the boot from a UCP minority, then that would be preferable.

lol get fucked clown, you don't know me or know shit by the sounds of it. Continue to take the wins in your mind.

I've gone down this road in the other election thread and it's a waste of time going into it on here with folks who are hard team blue supporters and always goes the same route, personal attacks and making fun of those who don't share the same mindset.
Intolerance/ignorance is what they do, it should be no surprise.

You do realize the other option is Notley who is also crazy and will knee cap the economy.

A minority government is nearly impossible in this election. Under 1% chance. @duaner

you say that a lot, with no evidence... she was in power, and we're still here after your supposed doomsday...

Down south the economy has never been stronger, under a democratic govt, definitely better than it ever was under trump.....

Our healtcare costs 30% more than BCs. We've had nothing but conservatives in power for 50 years, and they haven't had a conservative government in like forever. Coincidence?? I think not.

And really we know liberal governments outperforms republican ones. That's documented economic fact.

You're naive if you think Notley's anti oil agenda, tax increases etc didn't lead directly to hundreds of thousands of layoffs in O&G, she also ensured $billions in investment made its way elsewhere.

Her anti oil policies and tax increases at the exact moment the market tanked further killed any hope.

The industry was hit on multiple fronts, Trudeau, Notley and Energy prices.

I know this was only ~6 years ago so most of you have likely forgotten how ravaged the industry was.

Maybe we can find a Tik Tok video to explain?

46,000 published O&G layoffs in Canada for 2017.

Neat. And I’m sure you also remember the 5 billion deficit that Prentice tabled including tax hikes before calling the election? Both sides proposed tax increases because AB’s finances was fucked by years of deficits and royalties plummeting.

    Neat.
    I do remember that.

Do you remember the taxes Notley brought in and her anti oil policies that drove away investment which took years to recover from?
Last time I checked AB is currently in a surplus, lead by the UCP. Strong resource prices help, but being business friendly and spending wisely helps more.

We would be Ontario level debt had Notley had the reigns during Covid.

    Oh wow $5 billion deficit.

The debt was $80 billion when the NDP were booted out. It was $12 billion when they started.

NDP supporters are smooth brained doofuses.

If someone is dumb enough to vote NDP, then do you think they are smart enough to be convinced otherwise, by you, in this place?

Really? Are you really this dense? The surplus is entirely due to royalties.

Surplus is pretty easy to define.

Spend less money that you have.

If we had an NDP government they would spend every penny and then some the same way they did last time.
