It’s electric, which is Uber gay, but figured some Beyond members would like it.

    This thing is ass.

    Looks like another GTA Car.

Does Porsche even employ designers? Or do they just have one but in a basement tweaking 911 and Cayman designs every 4 years

I think Porsche is very good at maintaining its lineage. This vehicle represents a new direction for Porsche and clearly steps away from that traditional lineage. It doesn't look like a revamped 918, and it shouldn't.
However this car clearly and successfully tugs on IMSA/LMP design, which hint at its motorsports pedigree. I think they hit their mark well, but I seem to like porsche's in general.

For these things destined to be never driven garage queens, does the drive train under the skin even matter any more?

I mean it doesn’t take much to get from storage to cars and coffee 3 times a year?

    This.

It’s like driving a road converted 962. This is an excellent modern road friendly interpretation of their LMP cars.

    Agreed as well.

The Porsche 911 - and by extension, the rest of the model range - is the most iconic and recognizable sports car, the in the world... Regardless of what some non-buyers say, you don't fuck with that.

I think the Mission X hits the mark in the looks department as a roadcar interpretation of an LMP car.

It seems the EV-only drivetrain is not being well received by the target buyers, even if they are still likely buy it to maintain their standing with Porsche and ultimately flip it on to the cars and coffee crew... who, yes, don't care about the drivetrain, only that it's the latest thing and expensive.

I think it looks pretty reasonable overall. The glass bubble roof thing looks a little like Homer Simpson designed it, but whatever.
Tires look narrow from this angle.

Porsche is excellent at maintaining their lineage. But that's hardly doing any design work at all.

I really struggle to see how you could have it both ways. IMO, it takes a very discipline hand to do what they do - tweaking things just enough so that it is fresh, but clearly aligns through the generations - one can appreciate that sort of skill and tact.

I don't view a sense of restraint as interesting design.

Interesting - so how is that different from the DB12 vs. DB11? Interior stack aside, i'd probably struggle to tell them apart at a passing glance in traffic, much like you probably would for a 992 vs. 991.

I didn't say it was a bad design.... Just iterative.

Not that I could as Im poor and can't stop being poor (fuck you Trudeau), this would be the only Porsche that's interested me in years. Love the idea of a street legal LMP car.

Don't mind me though, I like EV cars and V12s equally but for different reasons.
