This thread bump was mostly a killy dog-whistle and it worked. I am satisfied.

I like Defenders. I have my own reasons why I don’t currently own one.

Do those Defender things have the famous timing chain that lasts a shade over 5 years? How does a chain fail to outlast the belt on a V12 Ferrari? What's the "tip option" start at for Land Rover service?

    Haha. No

I was about to order one when 3 guys at work all ordered matching carpathians.

    It was very cringe.

Maybe when the SVX comes out haha

Lexus GX550 order guides are out now. Though they are not supposed to my guy sent me the internal file that shows all the details and specs etc. He asked me to spec/colour mine out as this stage even though pricing isn't announced. If I was getting it for myself then no doubt would have done Overtrain + but now we are thinking it as a potential replacement for my wife's Q5 as she is finding it small with the baby/stuff. I specced out in white, luxury package. Apparently these will be 7 seaters which we don't need but with back seats down it's like a 5 seat config. They also have a 6 seat config which is also kinda neat but I think traditional back seats are importation with the car seat on the side and you want someone in the middle.

I had a similar call with my guy yesterday who said “we still don’t know much here is the color guide and trims that will be offered”. My order is in with Lexus and they don’t anticipate knowing more until closer to Q1.

He didn’t have any info on seeing one or if a pre prod demo is ever going to tour around Canada like they just did with the TX.

If you are into the overland that is almost certainly only going to be 5 seat btw

Would it be possible to share the order guide?

    https://www.lexus.ca/lexus/en/gx/register-for-updates

Apparently down at the bottom of this where it says “lineup” this is now consistent with what the Canadian MY24 trims will be. Minor variations from the us guide given at launch. Not a ton of info.

I think in standard Lexus fashion there aren’t much in the way of options, pick your trim and that’s what you get.

At least that’s what my guy emailed me yesterday, shak might have different/better info

Bit easier to read, although it looks like this is supposed to be confidential? Guess no one told Reddit.

Yea, I went back and looked at email chain and I had ended up doing the Luxury package+ (not premium) with white exterior. He said those will all be 7 seater but then you can just fold the back seats down and use it as a regular 5 seater and only overtrail options will be 5 seater. I wanted to do Executive package but from what I can figure out, that's going to be only in 6 seater configuration with captain's seat which I don't want.

I will post screen shots of what I can but the actual order guide, I rather not. Don't want to breach his trust or get him in trouble somehow. It has massive watermarks all over in caps saying 'internal dealer use only, not to be distributed'. lol.

I would never get a 7 seater if I had the option of 6, unless I absolutely needed it. Bench seat makes the rear fold up seats inaccessible if you’ve got a car seat mounted on the bench. If I had found a gx with captains chairs when we got ours I’d for sure have preferred that.

3rd row without bench seat is terrible. I would never do it. Having an aisl for the kids to crawl through is 1000x better.

Yea. I really want the overtrail. But a 6 seat option suits me way better. Especially with kids.

I can always put 33’s and a locker in after the fact

    ^^this guy know. I agree

Edit; so what is the seat configuration? 2nd row is either 2 captain or a 3 seat bench. Rear is either 2 seat bench or not there

Edit2....read the configuration and answered the above for myself....
