We're only 3 people and a doggo so I think the TX would be quite nice. And for longer road trips we have my truck anyway. I've contacted my guy and waiting to hear back to see what the prospects of the TX are like and will see. I've seen one or two on the road and I quite like the look of them. The first time I saw one I had to do a double take thinking that the GX was already out.
The TX is more than enough for that, with the 3rd row down the trunk is huge.

and I did not have the only say in the matter (most people just want it done ASAP and don't care about quality).

If anything we made a better decision because we had a consensus and were all on the same page.

RX is the same size/segment as the Q5 isn't it? That would defeat our purpose for an upgrade and wanting more room.

You’d probably have to do some research on specs, but the RX I think is bigger. There’s a 3 row variant of it (or at least there was in the not too distant past) which for sure would be.

Yes they make a long wheelbase RX
Just thought i'd pepper in some comments as an owner: They killed the 3-row / long-wheelbase RX for the 2023 MY; RX is now a dedicated 2-row-only, and the 3-row demand is filled by the TX. The current gen RX is a bit bigger than a Q5, but IMO not significantly so (an inch or two here or there). That said, we can comfortably fit 2 adults + baby + fatass bulldog + some gear in the current gen RX.

Back to Landcruiser info... US pricing is released. Dont really understand it as there is crossover with the GX.

    https://www.toyota.com/configurator/...2-1905b7e7d990

    Regular LandCruiser Model:
    $61,950 USD

    LC with Premium:
    $68,370

    LC First Edition:
    $74,950

    GX US pricing for comparison:
    Premium (Base) $64, 250 ($86,828 Cdn Site)
    OverTrail: $69,250 ($95,826 Cdn)
    Overtrail+: 77,250 ($105,176 Cdn)

I had pre-selected the LC Premium package, but that works out to $92,400 Cdn, but thats way too close to the Overtrail model to make sense. Guess I will have to go through the options etc...

Stampede says they are getting in 25 LC's this year... so I will have some decisions to make. To complicate matters, Id guess the 6th Gen 4Runner is announced in the next few months as well, and would hope it arrives in the late fall to add another vehicle to the list.

Regarding timing I have heard whispers all of these cars are delayed, poked my guy at Lexus and got the following this morning ( doesn’t seem like they have much confidence in them arriving any time soon )

I wish I could give you precise information as to arrival timing but it is simply not available. It could be 6 months or it could be a 1+ years we simply have no way knowing.
Sounds like GX is slightly ahead of LC on a relative basis and these are all coming out of the same factory so if I was a betting man I wouldn’t hold my breath on many LC arriving in Canada in 2024

Been living under a rock the last few years? Some Toyotas are over $100k now.

Considering the Sequoia just reached over 100k this year (by a whopping $116.18), why does it matter what happened a few years ago?

Edit: No married life has taught me something. You're right, I'm wrong, let's not fight about it.

I remember when you can buy candy for 5c. That time is no more, friend.

EDIT: The 1958 model is nice start to the platform. You wouldn't cross-shop this with the 4Runner (I think?), or would you?

Starting price is the top price of a Grand Highlander HybridMAX but that's a different type of SUV (not off-roady).

    Want.

How many 100k ram 1500s have we seen lately? Price seems reasonable to me... Not in budget but reasonable.

Gross, makes the GX seem like a better buy for not that much more money.

I mean LC is $17k cheaper than GX at the bottom and 19k cheaper than GX at the top of the range,

    That’s not nothing.

I still take the GX but I think there is decent differentiation, and some people will really want the 4cyl hybrid so that might help sort buyers into two camps initially.

I was assuming a GX Overtrail ($95,826) and LC Premium ($83,290) would be "comparable"? If so, that extra $12.5K isn't that big of a stretch to get the Lexus niceties and the V6 TT.

The LC has marginally better offroading capabilities with its increased approach angle and selectors/electronics....a much higher towing capability (relatively) is nice, but I'd argue that the interior is a bit sleeker in the Lexus.

    Identical ground clearance (8.7").

Really is going to depend on which you prefer looking at.

I'm surprised at how close the Lexus new GX and LX are in many specifications. Very close in terms of interior room measurements, one is a bit bigger here, the other these, but it's very close. More HP with a smaller displacement 3.4 engine in the LX, but I doubt it makes much difference in terms of performance. GX is built on the same platform as the Sequoia, anyone know if the LX is as well? I find it very odd that both the GX and LX exist, they seem so similar in terms of...everything. Then add in the Land Cruiser and Sequoia....why have 4 large extremely similar SUVs from what is essentially the same (ish) brand?

I'd be happy with any of the four, but after driving Lexus for 4 years now, I'm beyond sold on the brand, quality, as well as our dealer and its shop. GX Overtrail+ is what I want, but with the Executve interior/rear captains. I have a feeling I'll be buying one from Autotrader at a significant markup if I can even find one at all.

Well for starters all of these cars are on the same TNGA platform with the same wheelbase. LX and GX have exactly the same engine, it’s just slightly detuned in the GX ( there is something about smaller turbos on some of these but it’s window dressing).

LX is a fair bit longer on the same wheelbase, with some higher end interior finishings but that’s it. GX is a bit more utilitarian and has more off road goodies with same wheelbase but slightly shorter overall length.

It’s not surprising they seem similar because they basically are the same.

As for the sequoia and LC, well those will have Toyota levels of finishings and are priced lower for it. I don’t think there is substantial engineering differences, Lexus and Toyota are basically lipstick on a pig in difference.
