The glenmore stoney interchange sad compare to 5-level interchanges in the US. Not even close.

We don't have the Interstate N/S and E/W systems interfacing. So it makes sense that we wouldn't need those.

Also, we are a pretty small town compared to most us cities.
I assume anyone making that comparison was joking like I was.

Calgary would be ranked around the same as Birmingham Alabama in terms of metropolitan population. So top 50, but not top 40.

Those interchanges are a disaster when it snows. Not great for winter climates

What I don't understand is... why is the exit to Stoney South from Glenmore West one lane? The two lanes next to it on the right are for Sarcee North. These two lanes also act as the slip road to join Glenmore from the previous exit.

So yesterday that one lane (Glen West to Stoney South) was backed up due to sheer weight of traffic. Cars on the right that were joining Glenmore West from the previous exit were sandwiched in either go Sarcee North or join me for a cup of tea heading to Stoney South. For a moment I thought I was in the wrong lane and accidently jumped into the next right lane. I thought Stoney has a lot of lanes, lots of people will be using this to drive south. No way did they design this exit with one lane. Two minutes later im trying to rejoin the lane looking like a right plumb. Not only that, the cars behind me that are going Sarcee North get backed up.

It would have been easier and cheaper to create a Gyratory system ( A giant Round About) like in Hangar Lane, West London that does the same job.

That one lane is so fucked up. Doesn’t help that 99% of the people merging on from 37st have no clue how to drive/merge.

Heading home from the dome today was glorious taking the new section of Stoney to 17thave.

He's talking about the bridge on the deep south segment aka 22X, not the "South Bow River bridge" in the north, which is now open. I know, it's confusing.
Only poor people live in the dirty south and they don’t need two bridges , so it does not matter …

Glenmore west to Stoney south is a fucking joke. Pretty sure I posted that previously. A fucking joke. This was just built and it backs up for miles in rush hour. So poorly designed and planned. Not sure there’s even a fix for it.

Can't just say that, we'll need to create a think tank group to research if it is or isn't.

I'm so happy that it's finally open, only thing I wish is that I could go access south from Old Banff. Other than that commute time is way down

How does this work? You have to exit Glenmore and essentially drive on a single lane ramp all the way under 201 before actually being able to join 201 at Tsuutina Pkwy?

Seems like it would be quicker to just go down past Grey Eagle and actually use Tsuutina Pkway as your on ramp, not Glenmore
