Default 4 day trip to take the preggo wife suggestions

Need some suggestions.... preferably by this evening so I can book something!!

I'm hoping to take the wife on a little 4 day getaway somewhere warm End of January.

    So far I'm thinking of:

-Vegas to go do some sight seeing, shopping, and eating some good food and walking around
-Phoenix (not sure exactly what there is to do there hoping some nice hotel with a pool, visit grand Canyon, eat good food etc)

Westjet has their seat sale on until tonight so in a bit of a crunch. Vegas seems like the cheapest option for flights as we can use some Westjet points.

Any suggestions, or even some places to get deals are welcome.

How prego? Big difference in trips between a First Trimester and Third.

We did Maui at 5 months, and my wife said it was the second worst vacation of her life.

They're certainly big, but I don't know if they are the BEST I've tasted.

Vegas won't be that warm. I think you'd want to go a bit further south like San Diego or Palm Springs. Again depends on how far along and how much walking you intend to do.

Neither Vegas nor Phoenix are going to be THAT warm by the end of Jan. More like end of Feb. highly questionable pool weather.

Vegas is probably a better entertainment destination so that’s a plus, how’s her mobility ( this is pretty variable ).

I’ll make a flyer reccomendation and say do something like NY, it won’t be tropical weather but food and entertainment will be top notch, and you aren’t getting a trip like that in again for a while post kiddo ( Vegas or Phoenix easier to do apres kids ). She can go shopping for fat pants?

Or go to Hawaii, or Mexico or something.

Just got back from a first time trip to San Diego. 3 hour flight direct. Went for 4 days. Great weather and lots to do. Don't be dissuaded by the weather forecast. Says it is 15-17C this time of year but was great patio weather (all locals said it was unseasonably cold, but good T shirt weather for a Canadian).

It appears we have found our aspirational future winter property location. Just need to come up with $3mm -infinity USD.

My wife pitched the idea of a "babymoon". I thought it was an aweful idea given her state. I suggested we do it low key and we did. Just a weekend in banff was all. She seemed to enjoy it but after we returned, she said it was awful. She didnt sleep well, her feet hurt for a week after, and most of the "good food" we wanted to eat gave her heartburn. Then to make matters worse, our kid came a month and a few days early the weekend after. We regretted not just sticking around and finishing up the nursery.

The whole concept of a "babymoon" is stupid IMO. If your wife wants a break, then treat her to a weekend at the spa or something. Spending a bunch of money to just go somewhere else and be limited by their condition is silly.

We did however take a trip after the baby was born. Traveling with a 3 month old is legit. He slept the whole vacation and we truely had some relaxation time. I recommend a swim up or a room with a private pool. Makes nap time so much easier.

The correct time for a baby moon is before she is pregnant lol, go make the kid on the trip.

Somewhere that is a) reliably warm, b) has good AC, and c) not logistically difficult.
At that time of year, I'd say Cabo or San Diego is about it.

Did a babymoon last year, wife was at similar point as you. We did Vancouver/Victoria, the weather was great for us at that time. Now not so much. Only thing with Vegas is if you are walking through any casino, there's tons of second hand smoke. Wife may not like that. I was just there last month, some casino floors were better than others but still.

Why not go to Cancun/Dominican if looking for somewhere warm? Just do the resort thing

I'll have to do some digging into San Diego.

In regards to Cancun/Dominican- rather not as we dont want to go for more than 4 days, and god forbid something happens we would rather not be in a foreign country. Plus the sister and law and Husband live on a sail boat in Mexico and we'd never hear the end of it if we didnt visit them...

I'll do some digging into some spa's as well around Banff. Thats not a terrible idea.

+1 for San Diego. Don't go anywhere in the desert this time of year and expect it to be warm. It's really not.

It surprises me that very pregnant women want to sit in a tiny seat for hours at a time as a reward.

Not true in my case. 7 months preggo, 3 week road trip in a GLA45 with the racing seat option. I'm surprised she's still with me TBH.

Warm in January pretty much restricts you to Florida (depending on how you define warm), but that's in cruise season too so prices will be movin' on up.

Just take her to pound town for 4 days, it's not like she can get more pregnant.

Be a yes man, let her decide, let her hate it, drink yourself to sleep every night.
