yes pitbulls seem to have the most devastating attacks but then my personal experience with a few of them were just ever so sweet. a girl i was seeing had the sweetest pitbull and i never had more affection from an animal holy. but end of the day i ain't no expert so idk if they are in the wild animal category where instinct can just take over or what anyway, ban those little dang chihuahuas, they always wanna fight for no reason haha

I'm assuming you have a pitbull. If you have kids, it would be truly tragic if your child was bitten. But if this were to happen, you would bear responsible as you willingly put your family at an elevated risk through denialism and ignorance of the facts surrounding this breed. This supports my view that people who own these dogs are generally fucking stupid. And by stupid I mean they have, due to no fault of their own, a well below average IQ.

Newsflash: the proper name of the dog is utterly irrelevant. Unless you’re dumber than I previously thought, you should be able to surmise that “pitbull” is the colloquially accepted term for all bully breeds.

Edit: having personal experience with the breeds (whatever that means) is anecdotal, and not nearly as good an indicator for reality as the actual statistics.

Well people that like to just hide behind the whole "There's no bad dogs, just bad owners" facade are equally or more stupid.

You can be butt hurt all you want about what they call dogs, but the bottom line is that there are dogs big enough, and that bite hard enough, to physically kill people. And they just so happen to fall into the types of breeds referred to as Pitbulls. So I don't know wtf else you want them to be called?

The whole thing is a nuanced issue. Are bad dogs generally a product of bad owners? Sure. But same goes for people. And I've yet to hear about any parent being held criminally responsible for actions of their children they raised to be horrible adults.

It's not like there isn't any well trained dogs that just snapped and mauled a person before.

I don't know that we should be banning dogs, but jesus, it's pretty fucked up that you could be minding your business walking down the street and just get mauled to death.

Does seem like there should be restrictions of some kind, but I'm also pretty leery to let the government screw up anything more than they already are.

I don't know what the solution is, but people who staunchly sit on one side of the aisle or the other certainly aren't solving anything.

I actually was just coming to post that they are beginning to punish parents for school shooter kids. As they should. Dog attacks should be the same.

Not a minute more public service or taxpayer dollars should be dedicated to these animals.

Step 2 should be arresting the owner.
