This same discussion has infected the whole forum. Need a "shitting on Brad" sub-forum.

I'll try to reel my shitpostin' back, but Couper makes it so easy!

I bought a new tree a few days ago - spring snow crab; Happy to have something nice and thick to block my view of the ugly house across the street.
But the supplier still hasn't charged me for it - despite me agreeing to the deposit 3 weeks ago and providing a CC # and returning a signed contract, and them delivering and installing it last week, and me following up this week asking them to please charge me. Anything else I should do here? Was gonna give them one last call at the end of this week, and then wait it out. I'm sure they'll get around to it, but I don't want any issues down the line, ya know?

We tore down some shitty random trees/bushes the previous home owners planted and just went out and bought a lilac tree like I had at my house as a kid. When we picked it up the nursery gave us a pamphlet about some sort of rebate for drought tolerant trees. We can home and did a little more reading and basically hit the motherload. There is a 100% rebate up to $500 for the removal of a fruit bearing tree (tore out a crab apple tree), then a $100 rebate on drought tolerant trees (the lilac cost us $102), then a 50% rebate up to $1500 for drought tolerant grass seed or sod (which we already bought the seed), 50% up to $250 for an irrigation controller with Water Sense labeling (being installed in 2 weeks), 50% up to $75 for a master valve on irrigation (already part of the irrigation install) and 50% up to $100 for mulch or landscaping rock (which we are getting too). Getting some of those sweet sweet property tax dollars back.

Yea its not a Calgary program unfortunately but you can try looking up "drought tolerant plant rebate" or "Waterwise" or "YardSmart" and see if anything pops up for your municipality.

Usually I wait for the leaks to surface like for @ExtraSlow 's art room escapades but I'll make an exception here
