Bob, props for trying straight edge out. Definitely a healthier lifestyle. I don't have the will power to go completely straight edge or the will or want too
Don't kid yourself... Once this month is done I am probably going to yank it off completely by accident! Haha! That said, I may keep rolling with the no booze/weed etc as it is really agreeing with me!

Everything in moderation Bob. Keeping the booze/smoke to weekends (or alternating weekends like I generally do), is beneficial to the mind, and wallet.

Agreed! I am thinking of taking the approach of strictly during social gatherings. I really am finding myself much more productive staying clean, and definitely great on the budget!

I'm going to do a booze-free February, kind of inspired by you. Not sure I'll cut anything else out though. Just cutting beer for 28 days should be good for my waistline.

Been sleeping worse lately, so a detox may help that a little too. Although work has gotten more stressful, so I'll be jonesing harder.

I guess that's called balance? or the opposite, I can't tell.

I did this challenge, except for a year. It was super empowering. Good luck - hope you find something out of it!

I'm a low surface area to volume ratio, you haters. It's mathematically more efficient.

4 weeks in as of today and still holding strong! 9 pounds down and feeling great. Cravings are greatly reduced and am going to carry on without the booze etc until the next social gathering we are allowed.

I'm 100% straight edge minus some drinking, weed and mushrooms. You make a couple caveats and it's super easy.

Before the last lock down I did the F45 challenge. In that time I didn't restrict my diet really. Still ate mostly the same things but cleaned the diet up a tad. I cut back on the booze too. Stopped completely for 21 days and then limited any booze to the weekend. Did the 45 minute workouts, 4 days a week. In the 45 days I dropped 14 lbs, lost 7% body fat and gained 3% muscle. Not bad for a 57 year old dude.

I was still maintaining things for the next month and over Christmas but then I slipped on ice walking the dog and gave myself a hernia. Not bad enough for surgery but I can't do fcuk-all for the next 6 weeks.....as expected by beer consumption as now increased. lol

No but srs, if anyone wants some support to do the month of February, I'm already in. I hear there is some kind of charity deal with that, but I find external shit, and social media particularly, when trying to better myself, make me really unhappy, so I'm doing mine without attaching any "cause" to it.

You and your friends are picking the wrong women!
This. My wife has a better libido than I do these days!

I've done a "straight-edge" dry January so far and have also kept a healthy diet but today is whisky club day and I'm doing the prezzy on Canadian Whisky so I guess it's the end of the month for me. I'm going to try and keep things under moderation at least until summer though.
