Kia builds good cars now... But the entire experience surrounding the brand is pure shit sandwich.
I thought all dealers were shit? But of course I wouldn't know. Have bought 3 new cars in 25 years.

Not sure if this is indicative of what is to come but I have been receiving emails from Lexus dealership to buyout my car with cash all year round. It was usually around 31k-34k +/- 1k, but suddenly the latest email showed that the offer had dropped to 27k-29k. So something is shifting.

From my experience working with various companies the ideal is to meet budget every year but never overly exceed budget because the following years will be met with unattainable budget increases from upper management so I can understand why Kia would do this although it's kind of surprising on this scale and transparency.
Exactly. But i can see how some dealers are pissed and leaked it to the media. Usually it's the other way around. But by withholding. a lot of dealers or sales people miss their bonus and such. Whoever that leaked it is gonna get fired for this. not hard to make out who either. This quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote
Seeing some used come back to reality or get price cuts on FB Marketplace after sitting for a bit. Cloth seat RAV4 Hybrids are not selling for over $50k now that's for sure. Even fully loaded copies are a tough sell with a near $60k ask.
As an aside, it seems like a lot of these cars are on the market with 20k or less on them, generally sold by the South Asian variety under the guise of needing to leave the country or immediate upsizing but priced 5-10k over to account for the waits. (Yeah, shouldn't have taken delivery then eh). Not sure they bought these things planning to do Uber or something and then decided to do a 180 last minute. Good luck finding someone to finance over MSRP at 9% used rates.
If you completely take away fuel savings through your internal markup, then why bother. They still see flip potential still I suppose but with gas being $1.10/L here, no one is in a rush to save 2L/100kms being immediately underwater by that much. Gas models are 6 months from my guy at Charlesglen, so despite the wait, I still think ICE RAV4s do anchor what the entire line goes for in the used market sans Prime. That being said, flips are done in this market.
I'm currently in Vancouver and Jim Pattison Toyota on Burrard has 15 BZ4Xs unsold and ready for immediate delivery. Doing dealer discounts as well. Guess that's what happens when Tesla drops MSRP and really disrupts the pricing structure when it comes to EVs.
2016 Honda Civic Touring
Between late November and Christmas we bought and exported:
2023 Denali 3500 DRW, MSRP $109803, paid $91900 with 20000km on it.
2023 Denali 3500 SRW, MSRP $106863, paid $92000 with 24500km on it.
2024 Denali 3500 SRW, MSRP $115864, paid $99500 with 32500km on it.
Things are definitely depreciating more normally now in the truck market.
I can only assume that it was worth it to export them? @Twin_Cam_TurboThis quote is hidden because you are ignoring this member. Show Quote

Laughed at this, times are tough you gotta buy a third of a car?
WTF lol! I would rather rent an exotic for a day or two to get my kicks.
Fractional ownership in a car you drive very rarely probably makes more than a ton of sense?

Isn’t a 12yr old gran turismo only worth $25k?
Yea I don’t really have any opinions on the Maserati as much as the concept in general.
