By the sounds of it all I need to do is go to the frozen aisle at T&T!

The problem is variety. I have a 3 level steamer and have to make a couple rounds worth. And come on, I'm Chinese, fuck pre packaged shit from T&T haha. My go to used to be Fortune on Center St back in the day for frozen, but they aren't as good as the old days before they went semi mainstream.
I am 110% Honger as well ... Dim Sum here from restaurants not really better than Frozen ...

Don't buy from T&T ... "Sum Kee" (something like that) frozen dim sum is quite good, but the owner always on Vacation ... (vacation again now)

Well they only open mornings Friday to Sun, so dim sum only on those days.

In the north, 1 in 3 is Chinese. In the south, it's probably 1 in 10 to 15. You can't expect too many good authentic Chinese restaurants in the south.

Westend is same shit .. closest chinese restaurant is Signal Hill .. and they don't do Dim Sum, food is not great, but FULL HOUSE all the time .. and guess what, I am buying take out from there tonight again!

What I really need to do is make sure my Beyond friends from Hong Kong are there when I go next time, so they can show me around to the awesome places this whitey might not know to go.

    I love that city.

You are in Mackenzie Lake right?

Your goto would be Bill's in Bonavista.
    http://billspeking.ca/

Only decent traditional Chinese food I know south of Southland Dr.

I see a new dim sum restaurant is being built in Chinook by Chapters, called Tin Tin or something, could be another options for southerners without treking all the way to dirty north/downtown.
Magic Bowl in Bonavista is pretty good too, just pricey now with smaller portions, but quality and taste is really good.

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

As a white guy it's U&Me or Central Grand, sometimes we used to go to whatever Singapore Sams on 32nd is now, place changes it's name so many times dunno what it's called anymore

When we go to Central Grand, my wife will usually buy the frozen stuff from the place under the stairs when we leave

Ain't never bothered me before! It's just not authentic Chinese if there's not at least a half-dozen violations on record.

Aren't T-Pot, Forbidden City, and U&Me all part of the same chain? I find them all to be about the same level of deliciousness. T-Pot pricing slightly more expensive.

Forbidden City > Silver dragon only because they offer the chinese donut wrapped in rice crepe and all of the sauces....

Didn't mind Forbidden City. Is T-Pot better than Ginger Beef?

does peaking bill's have dim sum? must be a brunch thing?
Fri-Sun until 1pm I think. My go to place when I don't feel like going to Forbidden City or Chinatown. Don't have to wait for a table.

Their regular dinner menu is pretty good as well. Lots of Chinese people dine there, so you know it's good.
